I am having a blast playing with the Nature’s Harvest Bundle from the Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalog. It’s such a great bundle to use to create a variety of vintage style cards. You can easily create a vintage style card simply by using a bit of paper tearing and sponging ink on various parts of the card. Let’s take a look at some of the cards I have been working on.
Vintage Style
The inspiration for the vintage style cards actually came from one of the cards featured in the Stampin’ Up! Mini catalog. The first card features a bit of paper tearing around a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of the Harvest Meadow DSP. Once the tearing was complete, I simply sponged a bit of Crumb Cake ink all around the outer edge of the DSP. The combination of paper tearing and sponging really gives the paper such a fun vintage style. Next I cut a 3/4 x 4 inch piece of yellow DSP and a 1 x 4 inch piece of crumb cake cardstock. Tear the card stock in half, save one of the halves to make the second card. Sponge all of the pieces and adhere to the card front.
The second card features the use of the negative space left in the center of the white cardstock from cutting out the label shape used on the first card. Cut a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock. Lay the label shaped die in the center of the white cardstock and run it through your embossing machine. Use the die cut shape on the first card and emboss the white cardstock, with the negative space, to use it as a frame for the second card. You can create two cards with this technique!
Nature’s Harvest
All the cards feature the beautiful cone flower image from the Nature’s Harvest stamp set. Simply stamp the image on any die cut shapes using black memento ink. Color in the images with your favorites coloring tools. I tend to use Stampin’ Blends for my coloring but you can use any coloring tools you have on hand.
These last two cards feature the exact same design, I simply used different patterned papers. This design was inspired by a little stamping event I had with my team. Cut a piece of patterned paper at 3 x 4-1/4 inches and a different pattern at 2-1/2 x 4-1/2 inches. Cut two pieces of cardstock at 1-1/2 x 4-1/2 inches. Then simply arrange all of the pieces on the card front and decorate as desired.
