The tailored tag punch, from Stampin’ Up! has a fun and unique label style shape. It can be used in a variety of different ways in card making. The most common way to use this shape is for stamped greetings or sentiments on a card. However, I love to use the tailored tag shape to create unique backgrounds for my cards. And today I have 4 different ways you can use to create background designs in your card making.
Tailored Tag – Portrait Style
These first two card designs feature the use of the tailored tag punch to create some portrait style cards. For these cards I am using some of the beautiful patterned papers from the Hand Penned Designer Series Paper pack. Simply punch out a variety of different tailored tag shapes from different patterned papers. Arrange the shapes, as shown, on a 5 x 3-3/4 inch piece of white cardstock. To create the half shapes, simply cut the tailored tag shape from mid point to mid point. Use the half shapes on the sides of the cardstock. For the finishing touch, decorate as desired.
The first decision you need to make is what patterned paper you would like to use. The cards designs can be created with ANY patterned paper and any other supplies you have on hand. The only “required” supply is the tailored tag punch. You can easily coordinate your cardstock and ink colors with the patterned paper you choose to use.
Landscape Style
The last two card designs feature the use of the tailored tag to create some landscape style cards. The concept for creating these card layouts is the same as the previous ones. The only difference is the orientation of card. In other words, decorate the card in landscape style instead of portrait style.
I hope you enjoyed these simple card designs. Remember, you can use ANY patterned papers you have on hand to create these layouts so get creative with it!
