Today I have some simple ways to create a Frame Card Design. You are going to be surprised at how easy it is to create this design! And I have 4 different ways you can use this design in your cardmaking.
Frame Card Design
The frame card design involves the use of some nested rectangular dies. You can easily create a frame by choosing two rectangular dies of differing sizes. The larger the space in between the two dies, the bigger the frame will be. Conversely, the smaller the space in between the two dies, the thinner the frame will be. For these cards, I am using the stitched rectangles dies from Stampin’ Up!
Start by cutting a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of patterned paper. You will be using the exact same size piece of patterned paper for each of the frame card designs I am sharing today. Choose the two stitched rectangle dies measuring 2-3/4 x 4 inches and 2 x 3-1/4 inches. Lay the two dies, nested together, on top of the patterned paper. Center the dies and run it through your embossing machine. You will have three rectangle shapes: two will be frames, the third will be a solid piece. All three of these pieces of pattern paper will nest together perfectly.
Multiple Frame Design
Now that we have cut the 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of patterned paper, we are ready to create frame card design. These first couple of card ideas feature some simple ways to arrange the frames on your card. Each card features a full 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of patterned paper cut with the two rectangle dies. The first card showcases the nesting of all of the pieces to create a beautiful back drop. Start by adhering the largest frame first, then the middle frame and finally the center pieces. Notice how the middle frame is a different pattern? I simply flipped the patterned paper over and used the design which was on the back.
The second frame card design also features all of the patterned papers nested together. However, this time I popped up the middle frame using a few dimensionals. The center piece is simple the design on the reverse side of the floral print. Once you have nested all of the rectangular shapes together, simple decorate the cards as desired.
Single Frame Designs
These last two frame card designs were cut from one piece of 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of patterned paper. Only this time, I used the large frame and center rectangular shape on the first card. The second card feature the use of the middle frame. So you can create two frame card designs from ONE 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of patterned paper! How cool is that?
