As you can see, I am having a blast with the NEW 2021-2023 Stampin’ Up! In Colors! So much so that I had a few scrap pieces of designer series papers lying around. Since these new colors work so well together, I decided to show you some fun and simple card ideas featuring the leftover scraps of designer series paper.
Scrappy Strip Designs
The first couple of card ideas I have to share feature some fun ways to use up long strips of scrap paper. These are such quick and simple designs which are perfect for using up 1 x 3-1/2 inch pieces of patterned paper. Now go find all of the scrap pieces of patterned paper you have on hand which are 3-1/2 inches or longer. You can always cut longer pieces down to the 3-1/2 inch size.
The first card showcases the 5 strips of patterned paper arranged across a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of white cardstock. The card is in landscape style. The second card features the 5 strips arranged across the top part of the card front. This card is in portrait style. Remember, you can easily change the look of a card simply by changing the orientation. I also want to point out the design of the patterned paper. Notice how the pieces are staggered instead of arranged evenly across the cardstock. Staggering the pieces gives the card a fun look! Plus you don’t have to worry about aligning each piece perfectly! Both designs provide a fabulous backdrop for any type of focal point!
Scrappy Rectangle Designs
The last two card ideas feature rectangular shapes which were leftover from creating my sunburst cards! If you haven’t seen the sunburst cards created with these awesome In Colors, be sure to check them out HERE. Now the first scrappy creation is a landscape style card. It features five leftover scraps measuring 1-1/4 x 2 inches. I simply arranged them on the right side of a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of cardstock. I added a few pieces of scalloped trim created with Pale Papaya cardstock and the Color & Contour Bundle. Then I finished off the card with a little sentiment, some white twine and a bit of In Color bling.
The second scrappy creation features a portrait style card. This time the leftover scrap pieces measure 1-1/2 x 2-1/4. This time I arranged them side by side to create a fun rectangular shaped backdrop on the card front. I again added a few pieces of scalloped trim created with Pale Papaya cardstock and the Color & Contour Bundle. Then I finished off the card with a beautiful floral focal point, some white twine and a bit of In Color bling.
