2021-2023 In Colors – Monochromatic Card Ideas

The launch of the new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog is almost here! So today I have a variety of monochromatic card ideas to share featuring the 2021-2023 In Colors! The new colors are absolutely amazing! Now besides the fabulous new In Colors, I am also featuring a brand new bundle called Color & Contour.

Monochromatic Cards

One of my favorite things to do with the 5 new In Colors is to showcase them in monochromatic style. These cards feature the exact same layout in each of the 5 different colors. Start out by choosing one color to work with. Create the card base and the accent pieces using just one color. Create the focal point by stamping the images on a piece of white cardstock using only one color. The use of a monochromatic color scheme makes card making so easy!

Now the layout is super simple and can really be used with any supplies you have on hand. Start with a 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inch piece of cardstock. Score the 8-1/2 inch side at 4-1/4 inches to create the base of the card. Cut a 2 x 5-1/2 inch piece of patterned paper and adhere it to the card front as shown. Cut a 1 x 5-1/2 inch piece of cardstock. Lay the scalloped die in the center of the cardstock piece to create the stitched trim for the card. Adhere the trim to the left side of the card front as shown.

Create a rectangular shape large enough to fit the image you are using. Stamp the images on the white cardstock and adhere to the card as shown. Then simply embellish as desired.

Now besides new 2021-2023 In Colors, the cards also feature a brand new bundle of products called Color & Contour. This particular bundle includes the Color & Contour stamp set as well as the Scalloped Contours Dies. A super fun bundle that works perfectly with the new In Colors! The die set has a variety of different stitched rectangular shapes and a fun scalloped die.

This set of cards feature a great way to showcase the different 2021-2023 In Color Designer Series Paper (DSP). There are a total of 4 different patterns which come in the DSP pack in all 5 of the colors. For these cards, I simply used 3 of the 4 patterns. To create these cards, start with a piece of white cardstock for the base of your card. Cut the following pieces of DSP: 1 x 3-1/2 inches, 2-1/2 x 2-1/2 inches, and 1-1/2 x 3-3/4 inches. Arrange the pieces on the card front as shown. Stamp the greeting in between the top square piece and bottom 1-1/2 x 3-3/4 inch piece. Cut a piece of scalloped trim which is 3-3/4 inches long and adhere to the top of the DSP piece as shown. For the finishing touch, embellish as desired.
