Artistry Blooms – Ombre and Spotlighting Techniques

The Artistry Blooms suite has a variety of fun and colorful products! There are so many things you can do with the products in this suite. Last week I shared some fun ways to add pops of color to the Hand Drawn Bloom heat embossed image. This week we will play around with the Artistry Blooms Designer Series Paper to create an easy Ombre look. We will also do a bit of spotlighting with the stamped images.

Easy Ombre Design

Now one of the first things you will notice about these card layouts is that they are very similar to the embossed designs I shared last week. However, instead of embossing, we will be stamping the large floral image using Magenta Madness ink. We will also be using some of the Ombre style Artistry Blooms Designer Series Paper (DSP).

Artistry Blooms - Ombre and Spotlighting Techniques

The cool thing about the Artistry Blooms DSP is that there are a variety of different shaded patterns you can use. I decided to use the rich razzleberry ombre pattern for all of the cards I am sharing today. This first card features a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of DSP in the background. The Hand Drawn Blooms floral image is stamped on a die cut shape using Magenta Madness ink. The hot pink Magenta Madness color works really well with the Rich Razzleberry color! To add a bit of depth and dimension, I used some stamped florals to spotlight different parts of the bouquet.

Spotlighting

There are a variety of different ways to spotlight images in your card making. The spotlighting technique used for these particular cards involves stamping and die cutting some small floral images. The Hand Drawn Bloom stamp set comes with a very large floral image and some smaller, coordinating, images. So this makes the spotlighting super simple! Stamp the smaller images on a scrap piece of white cardstock using the Magenta Madness ink. Cut out the images with the coordinating dies and pop them up on the card with a few dimensionals. The popped up images highlight, or spotlight, different parts of the large floral.

I had a lot of fun playing around with the Artistry Blooms Suite this past week. I hope you enjoyed these card ideas. Be sure to check out the embossed version of these card designs HERE. Have a fun and creative day! ~ Lynn
