March 2021 Paper Pumpkin Kit Card Ideas – Here’s To You

Today I have a variety of different card ideas to share which feature the exclusive stamp set from the March 2021 Paper Pumpkin kit called Here’s To You. The card ideas feature some fun ways to use the envelope liners and the stencils which came in the kit. Now if you didn’t get in on the March 2021 Paper Pumpkin kit, no worries! These card layouts can be used with other stamp sets or supplies you have on hand. Just get creative with it!

Paper Pumpkin Kit Cards

The March 2021 Stampin’ Up! Paper Pumpkin kit is called Here’s To You. The kit contains all of the materials to create 8 cards; 4 of each of the 2 different designs. These cards are super simple to create since everything in the kit is pre cut and ready to assemble. There is just a little bit of stamping to create the greeting for each of these cards. And, of course, each card has a coordinating envelope!

Masking with Stencils

Each Paper Pumpkin kit includes an exclusive stamp set. The stamp set in this month’s kit features 8 different images you can use in your card making. For these cards ideas, I decided to use the stencils and sponge which were included in this month’s kit. Now if you don’t have the kit, you can certainly create your own templates for sponging or use the Mountain Air stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

Start with a 3-3/4 x 4-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock. Use the stencil and some Petal Pink ink to sponge the first mountain across the center of the white cardstock. Choose one of the other mountain shapes on the stencil and sponge it using Calypso Coral ink. Be sure to overlap the mountains. Use the cloud stencil with some Balmy Blue ink. Now you can either stamp the trees with one of the images from the kit or use one of tree die cut shapes. Finish off the bottom of the card with a 1 x 3-3/4 inch piece of patterned paper, some torn paper and a little sentiment.

These next two cards feature the sun ray stencil from the March 2021 Paper Pumpkin kit. Use the stencil and some Crushed Curry ink to sponge the sun rays across the top of a 3 x 5-1/2 inch piece of white cardstock. Then simply decorate the bottom part of the white cardstock with some patterned paper, torn paper and a little sentiment.

DSP from Envelope Liners

Are you wondering where I got the DSP for the first couple of cards? It’s actually part of the envelope liners that came in the March 2021 Paper Pumpkin Kit. I simply cut off 3 inches from the bottom of each of the envelope liners so that I could use the patterned papers as DSP for my cards. So you can still use the upper part of the envelope liner to decorate the envelopes. Pretty cool, hey?

The first card features a 3 x 4-1/2 inch piece of white cardstock stamped and decorated with the envelope liner, I mean patterned paper. Cut a 1-1/2 x 3 inch piece of patterned paper and adhere to the bottom of the white cardstock. Stamp the trees images above the patterned paper. Decorate the card with some of the die trees and a little sentiment. The second card features a 2 x 5-1/2 inch piece of patterned paper (envelope liner) adhered across the card front. Just some fun card layout ideas and a great way to use those envelope liners.

Using Up Scraps

As with any cards I create, I usually end up with a few scraps. So here are some quick and simple ways to use them up! The first card features a few 2 x 2-1/2 inch pieces of patterned paper which were leftover from creating some of the other cards. I simply added two 1 x 2 inch pieces of Pretty Peacock cardstock on each side of the patterned paper. For the finishing touch, I stamped a sentiment and added a few embellishments.

The second card features a 1 x 4-1/4 inch piece of patterned paper adhered across the bottom of the card front. However, before adding the paper, stamp the wild flower image across the Crumb Cake cardstock using Crumb Cake ink. It’s a great way to create a subtle background on the card front.

The last two cards feature a 1-1/2 x 5-1/2 inch piece of patterned paper adhered down the center of the card front. Next, I cut a 1 x 5-1/2 inch piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock, tore it in half, and adhered one piece of the torn paper to each side. Such a fun and simple card design! The butterflies used to embellish some of these cards came from the Butterfly Brilliance stamp set. So don’t be afraid to use additional supplies! Supplies

While I love to create my own designs, I really look forward to receiving my kit each month. The projects are super fun and there are a variety of different things you can create with the materials in each kit! However, you must subscribe to the program by the 10th of each month in order to receive that month’s kit. Once the deadline passes, the kits are no longer available. So I highly recommend becoming a subscriber so you don’t miss out on the fun! Learn more about the monthly Paper Pumpkin kit program HERE. Have a fun and creative day my friends! ~ Lynn
