The Flowering Cactus Product Medley contains almost everything you need to make some stunning cards. The medley includes stamps, patterned paper, dies and a variety of accessories. It’s the perfect way to get a bunch of coordinating products all rolled into one package. So today I have 6 different simple card layouts that you can use with this medley or with any other supplies you have on hand.
Portrait Style Layouts
The first two flowering cactus card ideas feature some simple portrait style layouts. One of my favorite things about the flowering cactus product medley is that I can cut out the cacti images directly from the patterned paper. Yes, all of the focal points feature the cacti images cut from patterned paper using the coordinating dies that come in the medley! Super fun! I love when my dies cut out stamped images as well as images in my patterned papers.
The first card features a simple panel card design. Cut a 2-3/4 x 5-1/2 inch piece of patterned paper. Next choose a different pattern and cut a 1 x 5-1/4 inch piece. Adhere both pieces to the card front as shown. Once you have the basic layout for the background, then simply decorate as desired. The second card features a few pieces of patterned paper layered together to create the background. Start with a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of white cardstock. Cut a 3 x 4 inch piece of patterned paper and adhere to the center of the white cardstock. Next, cut a 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 inch piece of a different pattern, snip the end into a banner and adhere to the card as shown. Creating the background design is sometimes the most challenging part. Decorating it is easy and fun!
Landscape Style Layouts
The next two flowering cactus card ideas feature some simple landscape style layouts. The first card showcases some fun ways to layer your patterned paper and focal point. Start with a 1-1/2 x 5-1/2 inch piece of patterned paper and adhere it across the card front. Cut a 3 x 3 inch piece of a different pattern and adhere to the center of the card. Create a 2-1/8 x 2-1/8 inch square from a piece of white cardstock and create your focal point. For the finishing touch, stamp your greeting on a 5/8 x 2-1/2 inch piece of cardstock.
The second card showcases another panel card design. Cut three pieces of patterned paper at 1-1/4 x 4 inches. Adhere the three pieces to the left side of the card front. Stamp your greeting on a 1-1/4 x 3-3/4 inch piece of white cardstock. For the finishing touch, decorate as desired.
Flowering Cactus Scraps
The last two flowering cactus card ideas feature some simple ways to use up scraps. The background on the first card features some larger strips of patterned paper leftover from creating some other cards. Cut a 2-1/2 x 5-1/4 inch piece for the left side of the card and a 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 inch piece for the right side. Then simply decorate as desired.
The last card idea showcases a great way to use up the little scrap pieces of patterned paper. You can use 1/2 , 3/4 and 1-1/4 inch wide pieces to create this card. Each piece of patterned paper is 2 inches long. Mix and match the designs and the different widths to create a fun look!
