Want to make a lot of cards quickly and easily? Well today I have an easy card layout to share that you can use over and over again to create a variety of cards for any occasion. The cards feature the Berry Blessings Designer Series Paper which is one of my favorites right now. However, this card layout can be used with any patterned paper you have on hand. Plus you can create 9 cards from one 12 x 12 inch sheet of patterned paper using this layout.
One Sheet Wonder
One of my favorite things about this card layout is that you can create 9 of them from one 12 x 12 inch piece of patterned paper. Yes, you can use up an entire sheet of patterned paper without having any leftover scraps! Simply cut 18 pieces of patterned paper, from the 12 x 12 inch sheet, which measure 2 x 4 inches. Each card features two of the 2 x 4 inch pieces. If you are using double sided patterned paper, you can showcase both patterns (front and back). If you do not have double sided patterned paper, you can actually cut up two different 12 x 12 inch sheets of patterned paper. Two pieces of paper means double the fun as you can actually create a total of 18 cards!
Since all of the cards are identical, I recommend prepping all of your supplies first as it makes the assembly so much easier. As you can see in the above pic, I cut 18 pieces of patterned paper, created 9 card bases, 9 greetings, 9 little strips of cardstock and 9 bows. So I am ready to assemble the cards!
Easy Card Layout
Each of the cards I am sharing today are created with a different 12 x 12 inch sheet of patterned paper. I did this for illustration purposes so you can see how easy it is to use different papers. You can create 9 cards with this layout no matter what patterned paper design you choose. Simple change out the colors of cardstock and ink to coordinate with the colors in the patterned paper you chose.
The card layout is simple. Start with a 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inch piece of white cardstock. Score the 8-1/2 inch side at 4-1/4 inches to create the base of the card. Take two pieces of patterned paper measuring 2 x 4 inches and layer them together in the center of the card front. I recommend using the design on the front and back of a piece of double sided patterned paper. Cut a 1 x 4-1/4 inch piece of cardstock and adhere it across the card front as shown. Be sure to choose a cardstock color which coordinates with the patterned paper you are using. Next, cut out one of the shapes from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies, stamp a sentiment on it and adhere to the card front as shown. Then simply embellish as desired.
Berry Blessings DSP
I had a blast with this easy card layout! So much fun that I used it to create cards with every 12 x 12 inch piece of paper in the Berry Blessings Designer Series Paper (DSP) Pack. This DSP is actually bundled with a stamp set as part of a Sale-A-Bration offering. That means the product bundle is FREE with a $100 purchase during Sale-A-Bration. Just a reminder, Sale-A-Bration ends February 28, 2021 so don’t miss it! Shop for these and other fun papercrafting supplies at https://lynndunn.stampinup.net
There are so many fun ways to use this DSP! Recently I showcased this DSP pack with some fun and simple accordion fold card designs. You can check them out HERE.
Now don’t limit yourself to just using the Berry Blessings DSP. This card layout will work with ANY patterned papers you have on hand. And, of course, you can use it to create cards for any occasion. Just get creative with it!
I hope you enjoyed this easy card layout! Have a fun and creative day! ~ Lynn
