Valentine’s Day is right around the corner! So today I have 4 simple cards ideas to share which feature the exclusive stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! Sending Hearts Paper Pumpkin kit! Although I created these cards with Valentine’s Day in mind, any time is a great time to send a little handmade love, right? Now if you didn’t get in on the January 2021 Paper Pumpkin kit, no worries! These card layouts can be used with any supplies you have on hand. Just get creative with it!
Sending Hearts Kit
The January 2021 Stampin’ Up! Paper Pumpkin kit is called Sending Hearts. The kit contains all of the materials to create 8 cards; 4 of each of the 2 different designs. These cards are super simple to create since everything in the kit is pre cut and ready to assemble. There is just a little bit of stamping to create the greeting for each of these cards and to create the large heart image. Plus, each card has a coordinating envelope!
While I love to create my own designs, I really look forward to receiving my kit each month. The projects are super cute and there are a variety of different things you can create with the materials in each kit! However, you must subscribe to the program by the 10th of each month in order to receive that month’s kit. Once the deadline passes, the kits are no longer available. So I highly recommend becoming a subscriber so you don’t miss out on the fun! Learn more about the monthly Paper Pumpkin kit program HERE.
Alternate Card Ideas
As with all Paper Pumpkin kits, this month’s kit includes an exclusive stamp set. The stamp set features 9 different images you can use in your card making. However, the large heart and little snail images are my absolute favorite and, as such, they became the focal point for each of these card ideas. To create these cards, I combined the images from the the Sending Hearts Paper Pumpkin kit with some of the die cuts from the Many Hearts set.
The first card simply features a 1-1/4 x 4 inch piece of the Snail Mail Designer Series Paper (DSP) adhered across the bottom of the card front. Adhere the DSP off the right side of the card. The DSP will be 1/4 inch short but the torn cardstock will cover up that area. Take a 1 x 5-1/2 inch piece of Blushing Bride cardstock, tear it in half, and adhere it to the left side of the card front as shown. Stamp the heart image using Real Red ink, then embellish as desired. The second card idea might look a little familiar to you. I used a similar design to create a card featuring the Lots of Heart Bundle which you can view HERE.
Window Card Idea
This next card idea is a fun and simple window card. You can create a window on the front of your card using any type of shape. In this case, the window was created using the heart shaped dies in the Many Hearts set. Start by cutting out the scalloped heart shape from a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock. Open up the card and place it on the cutting plate for your embossing machine. Lay the pink scalloped heart shape on the card front in the position you want it. Place the smaller heart die on top of the pink scalloped heart and run it through your embossing machine. You will end up with a hollowed out scalloped heart and two smaller heart shapes.
Adhere. the scalloped shape around the outline of the window you created on the card, then simply decorate the card as desired. When you created the window for the first card, you also ended up with a white and pink heart shape. Use those heart shapes to create the second card. It’s a great way to use up the scraps!
I hope you enjoyed these fun little card ideas. Have a fun and creative day! ~ Lynn
