Hearts and Kisses Card Ideas – Send a bit of Handmade Love

Spread a little handmade love and happiness with cards featuring the NEW Stampin’ Up! Hearts and Kisses Bundle. The bundle includes the Hearts and Kisses stamp set and the coordinating Kiss punch! There are a variety of fun ways to use these products in your card making. And today, I have 6 different card ideas to share to help get you started.

The first thing you might notice about these card ideas are the layouts. Although there are 6 different card ideas, I only used 3 different layouts. Yes, you can use your card layouts over and over again with any supplies you have on hand. Of course you can find this product bundle and other stamping supplies in my Stampin’ Up! store. Let’s take a look at each of the designs.

Hearts and Kisses

The first two cards feature the basics of card making; some simple stamping. You really only need stamps, ink and paper to create beautiful cards! The cards showcase the exact same layout. There are some slight differences in the focal point but the concept for creating them is the same. Start with a piece of white cardstock for the base of the card. Cut a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of patterned paper and adhere it to the card front. Next, cut a 1 x 5-1/4 inch piece of Blushing Bride, tear it in half, and adhere to the left side of the patterned paper.

The focal point for each of the cards features a piece of white cardstock with either hearts or kisses adhered down the center. The focal point for the hearts card is cut at 2-1/2 x 4-1/4 inches. I adjusted the focal point for the kisses card, to 2-3/4 x 4-1/4 inches, simply to accommodate for the longer greeting. Of course it’s super fun to dress up our cards by adding twine, embellishments and texture so feel free to add them!

Stepped Up Designs

The next two card ideas also involve some simple stamping. However, I stepped up a simple design by adding die cut shapes, texture and embellishments. Start with a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock for the base of card. Note: To create the base of the card, cut a 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inch piece of cardstock. Score the 8-1/2 inch side at 4-1/4 inches.

Cut a 2 x 5-1/2 inch piece of patterned paper and adhere it down the center of the card front. Next, use one of the Stitched So Sweetly Dies to create the rectangular die cut shape. Of course you can also simply cut a 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 inch piece of white cardstock if you do not have a die set. Stamp a variety of different images on the rectangular shape and embellish as desired. To add a bit of texture to the card, simply tear a 1-1/4 x 4 inch piece of red cardstock and adhere it to the card front as shown.

Using Up Scraps

The last two cards ideas feature an easy way to use up some scrap pieces of patterned paper. Start with a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of white cardstock. Think of this piece of cardstock as your “canvas.” Use your stamp images to add color and design to the middle of the canvas. Cut a 1 x 4 inch and 3/4 x 4 inch piece of any scraps that you have on hand. Adhere the scrap pieces to the card front by layering them together as shown. Then simply embellish as desired.

The fun thing about this particular bundle of products is the hearts and kisses on the punch! You can create heart or lip shapes from this one punch! I hope you enjoyed these cards layouts and ideas! For more card layouts, check out my latest post HERE. Have a fun and creative day! ~ Lynn
