Oh So Ombre is a fabulous NEW designer series paper pack which will be available beginning January 5, 2021! And the best part is, it’s one of the many Sale-A-Bration products you can choose for FREE with a $50.00 purchase. Yay for FREE stuff! Now the colors in this pack of paper feature the Ombre effect. The cool thing about this Ombre effect is that it’s already done for you! So today I have 7 different card ideas to share which feature some fun ways to use the new Ombre DSP.
Ombre Effect
Ombre is a french word which means “to shade.” Of course there are a variety of different ways to use shading in your card making. The “stamp off” technique is one way to shade. You can create variations in the shade of any color simply by stamping an image multiple times without re-inking it. You can also use a variety of different color shades of cardstock to create an Ombre effect. However, today we will use patterned paper which already features the Ombre effect.
The first Ombre card idea showcases a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of the Bermuda Bay Ombre DSP and a 1 x 5-1/4 inch piece of the Granny Apple Green DSP. The second card features a 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 inch piece of the Bermuda Bay DSP and a 3 x 5-1/2 inch piece of the Granny Apple Green DSP. The butterfly images are stamped across the DSP using the coordinating ink color. Quick, simple and beautiful card layouts!
The last card is a simple panel card idea. The outside panels measure 1 x 5-1/4 inches. The inside panel measures 1-3/4 x 5-1/4 inches. The butterfly embellishments for all three cards were stamped on a piece of the Bermuda Bay ombre paper. Yes, you can stamp on the ombre paper to add color to your stamp images.
NEW Stamp Sets
You might also notice some NEW stamp sets too! Yes, there is a beautiful new butterfly bundle coming out in January called Floating and Fluttering. The bundle includes a stamp set and coordinating dies. This set is perfect for creating simple cards, like these.
However, the die set will also help you create some floating frame cards! I will definitely show you how to create a floating frame in an upcoming video. The second NEW stamp set is called Heal Your Heart. This particular set is yet another Sale-A-Bration set! Yes, you can choose it for FREE with a $50.00 purchase during Sale-A-Bration. The Thank You greeting on all of these cards is one of the fancy greetings in this particular stamp set.
Simple Card Ideas
Much like the first three card ideas, these last four are quick and simple card designs. These first two cards feature just the Rococo Rose DSP. Notice there are two different designs: (1) Polka Dots and (2)The solid color. Both designs having different shades of the Rococo Rose color. The shading on the DSP creates such a fun look for these cards. Plus, there is no mess and no effort to create the shading!
The first card features a 2 x 5-1/2 inch piece of polka dot DSP and a 2 x 4 inch piece of the solid DSP (snipped into a little banner). The second card features a 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 inch piece of polka dot DSP and a 2 x 4 piece of the solid DSP (also snipped into a banner). These are very simple card designs that you can really use with any patterned papers.
The last two card ideas feature Blackberry Bliss which is the fourth color in the Oh So Ombre DSP pack. The first card layout is one I have shared before. The design features 2 x 2 inch squares of DSP. The second card is very similar to a previous card design. The background DSP measure 5-1/4 x 4 inches. The polka dot DSP is 2 x 5-1/4 inches.
