Let’s talk about the Tag Buffet Project Kit today. This is a fabulous kit which comes with all of the materials you need to create 30 adorable tags. The tags are super fun and easy to assemble. And there are so many fun things you can do with these tags. One of my favorite ways to use them is in card making. So today you will learn how to turn those adorable tags into cards with a few simple steps!
Gather Your Supplies
In order to turn these adorable tags into cards, you need the Tag Buffet Project Kit and just a few additional supplies. First, you need some cardstock for the base of the cards. I recommend coordinating the colors of your cardstock with the colors in the Tag Buffet Project kit. Gather any of the following colors of cardstock: Whisper White, Real Red, Shaded Spruce and Garden Green. You can also use a combination of these colors in your card making. I recommend using the same ink colors as well.

I also recommend grabbing a pack of the ‘Tis the Season Designer Series Paper. This particular paper pack features the same colors in the Tag Buffet Project kit. So it’s perfect for turning the tags into cards! Of course you will also need a stamps set. The Tag Buffet stamp set is recommended as it coordinates with this project kit. However, you can really use any stamp set, with Christmas greetings, that you have on hand. The remainder of your supplies come directly from the Tag Buffet Project Kit.

Prep Your Supplies
Now that you have gathered all of your supplies, it’s time to prep them! Arrange all of the tags and adorable embellishments into piles. So basically you can organize all of the Tag Buffet Project kit supplies in accordance with the direction in the kit. Don’t put the tags together yet, just organize the supplies. Once you have everything grouped together, then pull out the ‘Tis the Season DSP. Choose one 6 x 6 inch sheet of DSP for each of the 6 different tag themes.

Notice how there are 6 different themes: Christmas Stockings, Cardinals, Presents, Trees, Ornaments and a Bouquet. Choose a piece of 6 x 6 inch patterned paper which coordinates (doesn’t clash) with the design on the patterned tags. You will use one full 6 x 6 inch piece of DSP to decorate the outside and inside of three cards.

The last bit of prep involves stamping all of the greetings on each of the banners and cut-outs in the Tag Buffet Project kit. You can use Garden Green, Shaded Spruce or Real Red ink to complete the stamping.
Creating the Tag Buffet Cards
Ok, now that we have all of the supplies ready to go, we can start making the cards. I will walk you through the creation of these ornament cards. However, keep in mind the measurements are the same no matter which set of 3 cards to make. Be sure to coordinate your ink and cardstock colors with the colors on the patterned tag you are using.

For the first card, cut a 2 x 5-1/4 inch piece of DSP and adhere it to the left side of a white card front. Layer the tags together on the card front, as shown, then embellish with the ornament and greeting. For the second card, Cut off 2 inches from the bottom of one of the patterned tags. Arrange the two tag pieces in the center of the Shaded Spruce card front (notice how it looks like patterned paper). Add the white tag, ornament and greeting. For the third card, cut a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of patterned paper and adhere to a white card front. Layer the tags together on the card front then add the ornament and greeting. For the finishing touch, embellish all of the cards with two pieces of the gold twine tied into a bow.

Tag Buffet Gift Box
The materials for all these adorable tags comes in an awesome box! The box has the same holly pattern as a few of the tags and is beautiful as is. However, it’s only fitting that I embellish the box with a bit of ribbon and one of the tags.
