It’s a Curvy Christmas card making kind of day! Yes, today I have some quick and easy card ideas to share featuring a fun NEW exclusive product bundle which will be available on November 3, 2020. It’s the perfect little bundle to create some unique designs. The Curvy Christmas stamp set has 13 photopolymer stamps which coordinate with the Curvy Dies! The dies are part of the Quite Curvy Bundle which will be in the NEW Stampin’ Up! January-June 2021 Mini Catalog. How fun is that? And starting November 3rd, you can get your hands on both! You can create cards for Christmas and many other occasions with these bundles. However, today, we will focus on Christmas cards.
Curvy Christmas – Portrait Style
The first set of Christmas cards I have to share feature some quick and easy designs. Start by cutting a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of white cardstock and the same size piece of patterned paper. Adhere the patterned paper to your card front. For the first card, lay the curvy die horizontally across the center of the white cardstock and run it through your embossing machine. You will end up with two pieces. Adhere the decorative piece to the top of your card as shown. For the second card, lay the curvy die across the center of the white cardstock, vertically, and run it through your embossing machine. Adhere the decorative piece to the right side of the card front. Then simply decorate as desired!
Did you notice the new patterned paper? Besides the fun stamp set and dies, there is a new pack of Christmas paper coming out on November 3, 2020. The paper pack is called Classic Christmas Designer Series Paper. It features four different patterns in three different colors: Cherry Cobbler, Sahara Sand and Shaded Spruce.
Curvy Christmas – Landscape Style
The next set of cards features the use of the curvy dies to create a landscape style card. The concept for creating these cards is exactly the same as the ones above, I just changed the orientation of the card when decorating it. For both of these card, the curvy design is created by laying the die horizontally across the center of a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of white cardstock.
One of the cool things about the curvy dies is that it creates a clean and curvy design on both sides of the die. The first card features the decorative design cut from the die. The second card features the “straight” edge piece which was left over when I cut the 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of white cardstock in half. Yes, you can actually create two cards with the curvy die!
Simple Layering Ideas
As you can see, the curvy dies create some unique little designs in cardstock. And they also work on designer paper too! Since each piece of paper creates a fun curvy design, you can use both sides! Plus you can create curvy designs using any size paper. It’s so easy to cut the curvy shapes and then layer them together for a fun look!
Now you might be wondering where the tree came from, right? Well I decided to embellish all of my cards with one of the tree shaped dies from the In The Pines Bundle. You can actually use and embellishments or shapes on your cards. I just thought the tree looked cool with the Classic Christmas DSP.
Stamp and Layer
Besides all of the fun things you can do with the curvy dies, you can also stamp the curvy images! The Curvy Christmas stamp set has a variety of curvy images which coordinate with the curves of the dies. Since I am working on Christmas cards, of course I had to use the trees. However, there are many more fun curvy images in this set including curvy sentiments.
Now the curvy dies are not just for Christmas! The dies are actually part of the Quite Curvy Bundle which includes a non-Christmas stamp set. This particular bundle is an early release from the Stampin’ Up! January-June 2021 Mini catalog. And you can get it NOW before the catalog goes live! Between the Curvy Christmas and the Quite Curvy stamp set, you will be able to create cards all year long and for any occasion!
Watch for more information on all of the Curvy Celebrations! I hope you enjoyed this little sneak peek into the Curvy Christmas stamp set. This is just the start of the fun card ideas I have to share with you! I can’t wait to get busy with the Quite Curvy stamp set! Be sure to mark your calendars and grab these awesome products beginning November 3, 2020! Have a creative day! ~ Lynn
