Life Is Beautiful (Stampin’ Up!) – Cards For Every Season

This week’s video showcases 4 different ways you can use the Stampin’ Up! Life Is Beautiful stamp set to create cards for every season! The cards feature a fun paper tearing technique and are quick and easy to make! Each of the 4 cards showcase different colors for different seasons. Yes, you can create cards for any occasion or any season. Plus there are two different card layouts that you can use over and over again with different colors and patterned papers.

Autumn Themed Card Idea

The first card I have to share features an autumn theme. It’s the very first card I created with the Life Is Beautiful stamp set. As you know, I love the colors of autumn. The tree trunk image is basically stamped on a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of white cardstock using Crumb Cake ink. The leaves feature Pumpkin Pie ink and a little “stamp off” technique. This technique involves inking up the image, stamping it on the card stock and then, without re-inking the image, stamp it again in a different spot. This gives you two different shades of the ink color; a light and dark shade of Pumpkin Pie.

Once you have all the images stamped on the white cardstock, tear off about 3/4 inches from the right side of the white cardstock. There is a little technique to paper tearing so be sure to watch the video to see it in action! Before adhering the white cardstock to the card front, simply add a 1 or 1-1/4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of patterned paper to the right side of the card front. Adhere the white cardstock can to the card front so the torn edge overlaps onto the patterned paper.

Summer Themed Card Idea

The next card idea features a summer theme. The concept for creating this card is exactly the same as the autumn themed card idea, the only difference are the colors. The colors for this theme include Old Olive and Crumb Cake.

Besides decorating the front of the card, you can also add a bit of pizzazz to the inside. Cut a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of white cardstock. Stamp the leaves on the top part of the cardstock using the stamp off technique. Then add a 3/4 x 4 or 1 x 4 inch piece of patterned paper to the bottom of the white cardstock. Decorating the inside of the card with your leftover scrap pieces is a great way to use them up!

Life is Beautiful Winter Theme

The last two Life is Beautiful card ideas are similar to the first couple of cards. However, this time I completed the paper tearing on the bottom part of the card stock instead of the side of the cardstock. This enables me to use a slightly larger piece of patterned paper and changes the look of the card. The first card features a spring or even Valentine’s type of theme. I was thinking Spring simply because of the bright pink colors.

The second card features more of a winter themed card idea. The concept for creating this card is exactly the same as the Spring card idea, the only difference are the colors. The colors for this theme include Balmy Blue and White. The snowflakes stamped on the top of the tree are heat embossed. It gives the card such a fun look!
