Fall is in the air here in Wisconsin! So it’s only fitting that I share a variety of card ideas featuring the Beautiful Autumn Bundle from Stampin’ Up! This particular bundle includes a stamp set and three small punches: Two leaves and an acorn. Of course each punch coordinates with the images in the stamp set. One of my favorite things about small images are that they make great embellishments for card making. All 6 of the card ideas are pretty easy to create! My favorites are the wreath cards! Drop me a comment below and let me know which one(s) are your favorite.
Simple Card Ideas
The first two Beautiful Autumn card ideas are simple yet elegant! These are some of my favorite card making layouts. Yes, I have used these before! The first card is a simple angle card design. The lower part of the card front features a 4 x 4-1/4 inch piece of the Gilded Autumn Designer Series Paper. The top part is simply a 2-1/2 x 4-1/4 inch piece of a different patterned paper. This piece is cut on a slight angle and over laps the bottom piece. The left side is 2-1/2 inches long and the right side is 2 inches long. For the finishing touch, stamp a greeting and embellish the card with a Beautiful Autumn leaf and acorn. Oh, and don’t forget the gilded gems!
The second card features a 3 x 5-1/2 inch piece of patterned paper adhered down the center of the card front. The focal point on the card features the left over circular shape from creating one of the wreath cards (which we will talk about next). The leaves and acorns from the Beautiful Autumn Bundle make such fun little embellishments for these cards, don’t they?
Beautiful Autumn Wreaths
The next two cards feature the creation of a wreath using the little Beautiful Autumn images. There are a variety of different ways you can create a wreath and you will be surprised how easy it is! The first card features one of the gold hoop embellishments as the wreath. This embellishment is showcased in the Forever Fern suite but it works beautifully with this bundle too! Simply sponge a bit of liquid glue on the hoop and adhere it to the card front. You are now ready to decorate it with the leaves and acorn images.
The second card features a wreath created around the negative space left behind when using a circle die in the center of the cardstock. Start with a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of Crumb Cake cardstock. Use one of the stitched shapes dies to cut out the circle shape in on the upper part of the cardstock. Save the circle shape so you can create the focal point for the previous card I shared. Adhere the Crumb Cake cardstock to the Early Espresso card front. You are now ready to layer the little leaves and acorns around the circle. Using the circle as a guide, adhere the small images around it to create the wreath!
Spotlighting with Circles
The last two card ideas feature a simple way to spotlight these Beautiful Autumn images. Simply create a few circle shapes with your dies or punches. These circles are approximately 1-1/8 inch in diameter. The first card features these spotlighted images on a 3-1/2 x 5-1/2 inch piece of embossed Crumb Cake cardstock. Cut a 3/4 x 5-1/2 inch piece of patterned paper and adhere it down the left side of the Crumb Cake cardstock. Stamp a few leaves and an acorn; then spotlight them on a little circle shape. Super fun and simple!
The second card features the same spotlighting concept. The only difference is the design of the card. This time I cut a few 1 inch wide strips of patterned paper. Scrap pieces of paper work great for this! Adhere the patterned paper in a staggered fashion across the card. I typically leave any excess patterned paper hang off the top part of the card; then I simply trim off the excess once I have achieved the desired look. For the finishing touch, add the spotlighted images to the card front.
I hope you enjoyed these Beautiful Autumn card ideas. For more Autumn themed cards, check out my latest post featuring the Love of Leaves HERE. Have a fun and creative day! ~ Lynn
