In this week’s video, the holiday card making series continues as I showcase the versatility of the Stampin’ Up! Flight of Fancy stamp set. And I have 9 different holiday card ideas to share with you which feature three different layouts. The cards in this video feature the new Stampin Up Flight of Fancy stamp set. This particular stamp set has a variety of different images that you can use to create Halloween, Christmas or Love Themed cards.
As you might have noticed, the Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog has a variety of stamp sets that contain images which can be used to create cards for more than one occasion. You might recall that last week’s video also showcased the versatility of a stamp set and card layouts, you can view HERE.
Halloween Card Ideas
Let’s start with the Halloween card ideas. All of the card ideas I am sharing today feature images from the Stampin’ Up! Flight of Fancy stamp set. As you can see, there are three different card designs (layouts). The first layout involves a bit of paper tearing but it is definitely the quickest layout out of the three I am sharing today. Start by stamping the images on a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of white cardstock. Color in the image using your favorite coloring tools. Stampin’ Blends are my coloring tools of choice. Next, tear the bottom of the white cardstock and then adhere it over a piece of patterned paper. Quick and simple!
The next two card designs are also quite simple to create. The first one is an angle card design. I enjoy creating cards that are simple yet have a unique look to them. I encourage you to watch the video for some tips on how to create this design.
The last card idea features a bit of embossing in the background and the creation of a focal point. For this card, I simply cut out the witch image with my scissors and popped it up on the card. Notice how I just cut out the witch and the broom instead of the entire image.
Christmas Card Ideas
The next set of holiday card ideas features a Christmas theme. Notice the card layouts are exactly the same as the Halloween cards. Simply change out the patterned papers, colors and the Flight of Fancy stamp images to create cards for a different occasions. In this case, the focus is on a Christmas theme.
I really enjoy “recycling” my card layouts. I mean why use a layout just once? By using the same card layout you can easily change the look of the card simply by using different colors, patterned papers and stamp images. It’s a great way to create a lot of cards fast!
Love-Themed Card Ideas
The last set of holiday card ideas features a Love theme. Again, you will notice the card layouts are exactly the same as the Halloween and Christmas cards. Simply change out the patterned papers, colors and the Flight of Fancy stamp images to create cards for a different occasion. In this case, the focus is on a love theme.
These are definitely my favorites out of the 9 different holiday cards. I love the colors and the adorable little cupid image. The angle card design features slightly larger patterned paper pieces and some extra paper tearing. However, the concept for creating it is exactly the same as the other holiday cards.
Tutorial and Supplies
As you can see, these card layouts can easily be used over and over again to create cards for ANY occasion. Although the video features the creation of the Halloween cards, the concept for creating all 9 of these cards is the same.
For a complete list of supplies and all of the step-by-step instructions for creating these cards, feel free to download the printable tutorial. Of course I highly recommend watching the video as there are some tips on creating the card layouts. Have a fun and creative day! ~ Lynn
