In this week’s video, I have 6 different holiday card ideas to share with you which feature two different layouts. You might have noticed a theme with my holiday card making series these past couple weeks. My focus is on highlighting the versatility of stamp sets and card layouts. The Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog has a variety of stamp sets that contain images which can be used to create cards for more than one occasion. You might recall that last week’s video also showcased the versatility of a stamp set and card layouts, you can view it HERE.
The cards in this video feature the new Stampin Up Everything Essential Bundle. The bundle includes a stamp set and a tag punch. This particular set is quite versatile as it contains a variety of images that can be used to create Halloween, Christmas or Love-themed cards. The two card layouts are quite versatile as each layout was used to create a Halloween, Christmas and love-themed card.
Halloween Theme
Let’s start with the Halloween card ideas. As you can see, there are two different card designs (layouts). The first layout was inspired by a project in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog. It features a fun little design using the Essential Tag punch. For this card, simply punch out 3 tags from a piece of patterned paper and 3 tags from a piece of cardstock. Stamp a few Halloween images on the cardstock tags and then arrange them on the card front.
The second card design (layout) features the creation of a short and long tag. The Essential Tag punch enables you to create a tag which is approximately 2 inches long. However, you can really use the punch to create tags at any length. Be sure to watch the video to see this process in action!
Christmas Theme
The next set of holiday card ideas features a Christmas theme. Notice the card layouts are exactly the same as the Halloween cards. Simply change out the patterned papers, colors and stamp images to create cards for a different occasions. In this case, the focus is on a Christmas theme.
The first holiday card features the fun tag design with a bit of heat embossing on the Cherry Cobbler cardstock tags. The second holiday card features a bit of tone-on-tone stamping in the background on the card front. Tone-on-tone refers to using the same color ink as the color of the cardstock. In this case, the images were stamped on Crumb Cake cardstock using Crumb Cake ink. This tone-on-tone technique creates a subtle background for the card.
Loved Theme
The last set of holiday card ideas features a Love theme. Again, you will notice the card layouts are exactly the same as the Halloween and Christmas cards. Simply change out the patterned papers, colors and stamp images to create cards for a different occasion. In this case, the focus is on a love theme.
As you can see, these card layouts can easily be used over and over again to create cards for ANY occasion. Although the video features the creation of the Christmas cards, the concept for creating all 6 of these cards is the same.
For a complete list of supplies and all of the step-by-step instructions for creating these cards, feel free to download the printable tutorial. Of course I highly recommend watching the video as there are some tips on the card layouts and using the punch to create long tags. Have a fun and creative day! ~ Lynn
