Ornamental Envelopes – 4 Christmas Card Ideas

The new Stampin’ Up! August-December 2020 Mini Catalog (aka Holiday catalog) went live on August 4, 2020.  So to celebrate, I have 4 Christmas card ideas to share with you featuring the new Stampin’ Up! Ornamental Envelopes Bundle. The bundle includes a stamp set and some fun new dies which you can use to create cards and/or decorate your envelopes.  

Ornamental Envelope Wreath

These first two cards were inspired by one of the samples featured in the new catalog. I love the idea of using stamp images to create a wreath. The Ornamental Envelopes stamp set contains a variety of images that are perfect for making a wreath. And in this week’s video, I share a few tips with you on how to create the wreath. It’s actually much easier than you might think.

The concept for creating the wreath involves stamping the images in circular fashion. The easist way to do that is to create a circle template. You can use any size circle depending on how big you want your wreath. A 2-3/8 or 2-1/2 inch circle shape works well for this size wreath. Simply stamp the images around the circle shape. That’s it! Be sure to what the video to see this in action.

The Ornamental Envelopes Bundle also enables you to decorate your envelopes. There are a variety of different sized dies that will help you create liners for your envelopes. And they are so easy to use. The envelope liner for this card was created with a 5-1/4 x 6 inch piece of patterned paper. Simply use the die on the 5-1/4 inch side of the paper to create the scalloped edge. Then go ahead and tuck it into your envelope. Easy peasy! Of course the paper in the envelope matches the paper on the card. Yes, it’s super simple to coordinate your card and envelope decorations.

More Ornamental Envelope Card Ideas

The last two cards I have to share feature the actual ornament images in the set. The first card features the very large ornament image stamped and embossed on the card front. I love the look of white embossing on the crumb cake cardstock. It gives the card a rustic style.

The second card features some fun ways to use the dies in the set. There is actually a large die that cuts out each of the ornaments individually. Yes, one die that cuts out all 6 ornaments at one time! Such a time saver! Then you can use the ornaments to decorate your card. Besides the ornament die, there are other dies in the set that can be used to decorate your cards or your envelopes. You can see that there is a large die cut section in the middle of the second card. This die was showcased on an envelope flap in the catalog. However, it works fabulous for card making as well.
