Did you know you can make absolutely beautiful cards with just stamps, paper and ink? Yes, you can! And today I have 6 different simple stamping layouts to share with you featuring the Lovely You Bundle.
Simple stamping means that the focus of our card making will be on stamping instead of fancy techniques or tools. You can find more simple stamping card ideas HERE.
There are a variety of different ways to use your stamp images to create beautiful yet simple cards. So today you will learn a few fun ways to create a grouping of stamped images, a frame and, of course, how to use the catalog to gather inspiration for your your card making.
Create a Grouping
One way that you can use simple stamping in your card making involves the creation of a focal point. This involves stamping a cluster or grouping of images in one particular spot on your card.
To create a grouping, simply choose a few images and ink colors. For these cards, I am featuring four of the NEW 2020-2022 In Colors: Bumblebee, Misty Moonlight, Just Jade and Cinnamon Cider. These four colors work so well together.
The first card features a grouping of stamped images on the right hand side of the card. You can make the grouping any size. Simply randomly stamp a variety of different images using a variety of different ink colors. The second card idea features a grouping of stamped images across the center of the card. Stamp the images across a 3 x 5-1/2 inch piece of white card stock. Again, use a variety of images and colors to create the grouping. For the finishing touch, embellish the card as desired.
Creating a Frame
The second way you can use simple stamping is to create a frame. The concept for creating a frame is very similar to the grouping ideas. However, in this case, we will group the images around the outer edges of the card stock. Frames highlight the focal point on the card very nicely.
The first card features some simple stamping around the top and left side of a 5 x 3-3/4 inch piece of white card stock. The second card features the simple stamping around the entire piece of white card stock. Again, use a variety of images and ink colors to create the frame. The focal point for both of these cards features a fun new punch shape! The Lovely Labels Pick A Punch is 6 punches all rolled into one! There are two different label types you can create in three different widths: 1/2, 3/4 and 1 inch size. It was super fun and easy to create some fancy labels for the cards.
Catalog Inspiration
These last two cards ideas were inspired by some samples in the Stampin’ Up! 2020-2021 Annual Catalog. Yes, there are some amazing projects in every catalog and you should definitely use them as inspiration in your card making. You can even copy them, which is called CASEing (Copy And Share Everything).
Now the card ideas featured in the catalog are very similar to the cards here. However, I did change out the colors and some of the embellishments. The first card features the use of stamped images to create a beautiful background on the card. The second card idea features a fun way to use the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch. Each label is 3/4 x 5 inches long and showcases four of the fun new In Colors. Each label also showcases a different stamp image from the Lovely You stamp set from Stampin’ Up! Such a great way to show off the stamp set and the labels.
So now you have 6 different simple stamping layouts that you can use to create some beautiful cards! So take a look at the stamp sets you have on hand and get busy creating! Have a fun and creative day my friends. ~ Lynn
