Hello Friends! Today I thought we would switch gears and have a little Christmas In July celebration! I just got my hands on some of the brand NEW products coming out in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Mini Catalog! Yes, I said holiday catalog! And I have 6 different card ideas featuring the NEW Gnome For The Holidays stamp set. Plus, I will feature each of the cards in traditional and non-traditional Christmas colors.

The traditional Christmas colors I am featuring today include a few shades of the greens and reds: Real Red, Pear Pizzazz and Mossy Meadow. The non-traditional Christmas colors include different shades of blue: Night of Navy and Seaside Spray. The stamp set, Gnome For The Holidays, does require a bit of coloring. I find that the Stampin’ Blends are the best for coloring but you can use any coloring tools that you have on hand.
Fun with Ribbon
The first couple of cards I have to share with you feature some of the NEW ribbon from the Holiday catalog. The card with the traditional Christmas colors showcases the new sheer Real Red ribbon. The card with the non-traditional Christmas colros features some of the new metallic mesh ribbon. One of my favorite ways to use ribbon in card making is to simply run it across the card. The larger the width of the ribbon, the better it looks running across the card.
Notice that the card layout is exactly same for both of these card. The only difference are the colors and the stamped image. Both cards feature a 2 x 5-1/4 inch piece of patterned paper adhered down the left side of a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of cardstock. Although the colors and ribbon are different, the dimensions of the actual layout are the same. This is one of my favorite things about card making. You can easily change the look of the card, without changing the layout, simply by using other colors and supplies.
The same thing is true about these two cards. Both cards feature a 3 x 5-1/2 inch piece of patterned paper adhered to a 3-1/4 x 5-1/2 inch piece of cardstock. The colors, designer paper and ribbon are all different. However, the actual measurements and layout is exactly the same.
Simple Stamping with Gnomes
The last two cards ideas were inspired by one of the projects featured in the new holiday catalog. The focal point for each of these cards is simply the different Gnome images stamped across a 5-1/2 x 3 inch piece of white cardstock. Black memento ink works the best if you plan to color the images using Stampin’ Blends.
You can easily add color to the Gnomes in with Stampin’ Blends or any other coloring tools you have on hand. Just a little tip for you…use Wink of Stella (glitter pen) to add color to each of the Gnome beards. The Wink of Stella adds a little bit of sparkle to your cards.
