Everyone could use a little bit of sunshine in their lives right now. So today I have a Box of Sunshine I want to share with you! It’s the June 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit and it’s full of bright and cheery card ideas!
Box of Sunshine Card Kit
Paper Pumpkin is a monthly crafting kit program. If you are not familiar with paper pumpkin, you can learn more about it HERE. This month’s paper pumpkin kit contains all of the materials you need to make 8 bright and cheerful cards! Plus there are lots of extra supplies I this month’s kit. So that means I have some extra card ideas to share today.
The first thing I do when I receive the kit is to make the cards based on the designs as featured in the kit. I have noticed the kits seem to always contain extra items to play with so there are lots of opportunities for me to get creative and make additional cards later. Besides, it’s really fun to be able to just sit and create without all of the fuss of coming up with the designs, right?
So the first 8 cards I created are the designs from the June 2020 Box of Sunshine kit. Quick and simple card ideas. I simply organized all of the supplies and stamped my greetings first. Once that was complete it took me about 10 minutes to put all of the cards together. Instant gratification!
Alternate Card Ideas
The next 9 card ideas I have to share showcase some of the fun ways to use the leftover supplies from the Box of Sunshine kit! Of course I added a few of my own supplies such as cardstock and patterned paper. There were 3 pineapples, 6 lemons and 3 sunshine shapes leftover after putting together the cards from the kit. So here are the fun cards I created with those leftover pieces!
These first three cards feature a 3 x 5-1/2 inch piece of patterned paper adhered directly down the center of the card front. On two of the cards, I cut a 3-1/2 x 5-1/2 inch piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock to matte out the patterned paper. On the other card, I left the matting off. Then I simply decorated the cards with the leftover pieces from the kit.
The next two cards feature a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inch piece of patterned paper as the background. The paper covers the entire card front. Both of the cards are simply decorated with leftover supplies from the kit. The layout for the third card is very similar to the pineapple one. The only difference is that I used a 2 x 5-1/2 inch piece of patterned paper. The matte is a 2-1/2 x 5-1/2 inch piece of black cardstock. You might also notice that I created my own set of leaves for the lemons too.
And these last three cards, well they feature the little leftover sun shapes. The design was inspired by the card designs in the kit. However, for these cards, I simply cut a 3 x 5-1/2 inch piece of patterned paper for the background of the card. Each card is decorated and stamped with supplies from the kit.
Paper Pumpkin Kits
Although the monthly Paper Pumpkin kit projects are always a surprise, we do get a few details about the upcoming kit. We know that the July 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit is called Summer Nights. The kit contains enough supplies to create nine postcards (card size: 4” x 5-1/4”) as well as nine die-cut tealight bags. You will also receive coordinating envelopes for the cards.
Since next month’s kit features smaller sized cards and tealight bags, we do have the option of purchasing the Summer Nights Add-On package. This package contains 24 preprinted card bases and coordinating envelopes. Card size: 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2.” The Add On package will be available on July 1, 2020 at http://lynndunn.stampinup.net Please note: The Summer Nights Add-On is not required to complete the Paper Pumpkin kit projects. However, I really like the idea having the ability to purchase the 24-card Add On package in plenty of time before the kits ship out after July 10th.
It’s important to note that these kits are only available to subscribers. So while the Box of Sunshine kit is no longer available, you can certainly get in on next month’s Summer Nights kit by subscribing on or before July 10, 2020.

You’re very welcome 🙂
Hello, Lynn!
In The Netherlands, we can’t subscribe to paper pumpkin kits (boohoo), however, we can get the Box of Sunshine one in August. Do you think we could also order the add on?
Thank you very much,
Ineke
Hi Ineke, I’m happy to hear you can get the box of sunshine kit! I’m not sure about the add on for your area. You would have to reach out to Stampin’ Up! about that
