The Stampin Up Annual Catalog will go live on June 3, 2020! Wahoo! So today I have a split card design to share with you that features the 5 new Stampin Up In Colors 2020 – 2022. The 5 new colors include Magenta Madness, Bumble Bee, Just Jade, Misty Moonlight and Cinnamon Cider.
Now I always look forward to the launch of ANY new catalog but the Annual catalog launch is by far my favorite. I love having 5 NEW colors to play with! So to showcase these new colors, I put together these very easy split card designs.
Split Card Design
My version of a split card design simply involves making two angle cuts into a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of cardstock. In this week’s video, I demonstrate exactly how to do it. It’s fun and simple! Plus it’s a great way to show off your patterned papers.
The cards require very few supplies too! All you need is some cardstock and a 6 x 6 inch piece of patterned paper. Oh, and of course, some type of embellishments. The angle sections of these cards are 1 inch wide on the top and 1-1/2 inches wide on the bottom. Be sure to watch the video to learn how to easily line up your cardstock to make the angle cut. The angled panels overlap onto a 2 x 5-1/4 inch piece of patterned paper. Easy peasy and such a fun look! Then, simply decorate as desired.
Using Up Scraps
One of the benefits of creating the split card design is that you end up with a leftover piece of cardstock. This is the middle section of the cardstock piece that we cut out when we created the two angled panels for the first card.
These cards feature two pieces of patterned paper which are 2 x 5-1/4 inches. The patterned paper pieces are adhered side by side to the front of the card. Use the pattern on the front and back of the paper for a fun look! The leftover angle piece is simply adhered across the center of the card. It’s a great way to cover up the “seam” where the two pieces of patterned paper meet.

I love the look of these cards as well as how easy they were to make! I also love that you can get TWO cards out of one 6 x 6 sheet of DSP. Great job, Lynn!
