Looking for a simple yet unique card making idea? Well, today I have two shirt card ideas to share with you ~ feminine style! Now although they were designed with Mother’s Day in mind, they can really be used to celebrate just about any occasion.
The card ideas feature the Best Dressed Designer Series Paper from Stampin Up. However, keep in mind you can use any supplies you have on hand to create these cards. I highly recommend the use of smaller patterns to create these shirt cards. Keep in mind that the larger the pattern on your paper, the “louder” your shirt card with be.
Shirt Card Idea
Very often shirt card ideas tend to focus on a more masculine style. That’s why I was super excited to play around with some of my shirt card designs to create one that has a more feminine flair to it! You know, a blouse! So that is what I want to share with you today. A blouse card. It actually reminds me of the top part of a dress too. No matter what we call it, it will be fun and simple to make!
Now in this week’s video, I will walk you through the basics of creating this shirt card. So be sure to watch the video. If you want to create along with me, then you need to get a few supplies ready. You need some cardstock, pattern paper and a layering circle die set (or two punches that are different sizes). That’s it! The neck line of the shirt card will be created with the two circle dies. You will be amazed at how easy it is!
Inside Decorating Idea
Once you create the shirt design on the front of the card, you can use some of your leftover scraps to decorate the inside of the card. When I initially cut the 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of designer series paper, I ended up with a small 3/4 x 4 inch piece of pattern paper leftover. So I simply adhered it to the inside of the card. It’s a great way to use up your scraps (instead of storing them) to decorate the inside of your card.
You can stamp a little Mother’s Day sentiment on the inside of the card or simply leave it blank so you have more room for writing a personalized message.
