Hello Friends! Today I have a variety of pom pom ideas you can use in your card making. Now the best thing about these little pom poms is that you don’t have to make them! They are featured in the Birthday Bonanza suite in the Stampin Up Occasions catalog. They are a lot of fun to use with the birthday products in that suite; however, there are many more ways that you can use them.

The pom poms come in an assortment of colors: Bermuda Bay, Grapefruit Grove, Poppy Parade and Whisper White. There are 100 pieces in the pack; 25 of each of the 4 colors. So today, I will share 5 different ways you can use them in your card making.
Flower Pom Pom Ideas
The very first thing I thought to use the pom poms for were to create some flowers. Now you can use a stamp set, such as the Thoughtful Blooms, to create the stem and leaves for the pom pom flowers. You can also simply use a marker and draw your own stems and leaves. So look through your stamp sets and see what you have on hand.

This first card features some Granny Apple Green cardstock and patterned paper in the background. The flowers are showcased on a little rectangular shape cut from the Stitched So Sweetly Die set. Start by stamping the greeting, stem and leaves first. Creating the flowers is super simple! Choose 6 little colored pom poms for petals of the flower and a white pom pom for the center. Add a bit of liquid glue to the top of the stem, in a circular fashion, then adhere the pom poms. That’s it!
These next two flower cards are a great way to decorate a piece of patterned paper. I actually started out creating the card on the left first. Just randomly stamping the flower stems across the cardstock using Old Olive ink. These flowers were created in the same way as the first card I shared, I just changed up the colors. You may notice that the second card features the exact same design. The only difference is that I added a 1/2 x 5 inch piece of Old Olive cardstock between the greeting and the flowers. I couldn’t decide which one I liked more so I thought I would share them both. Which one do you like?
Bunch of Balloons
This next card features a bunch of pom pom balloons. I have two fun cloud images that came in the March Paper Pumpkin kit that I used to create the background on this card. The strings for the balloons were created with the image in the Bonanza Buddies stamp set.

Now it gets a little tricky to adhere a large amount of these pom poms together to create the balloons. I actually formed the little bunch of balloons on my crafting table first. Once I had a look that I liked, then I scooped them up with a little crafting spatula (you can also use a scrap piece of paper) and scooted them onto the top of the strings. Again, just add a bit of glue, in a circular motion, on the top of the strings. It’s much easier to glue the pom poms on in a bunch instead of one by one.
Ice Cream Pom Pom Ideas
The last couple of cards feature pom pom ideas to make ice cream cards.
It’s so much fun to use your craft supplies in ways other than what was intended. It gets you to think outside the box and really gets your creativity flowing. Using the pom poms in this way reminds of punch art. There are so many fun ways to use circle shapes to create something different. What will you use these pom poms or circle shapes to create?
There are many possibilities so have fun with it! And have a creative day! ~ Lynn
