Peaceful Poppies – 6 Simple Card Ideas

Today I have 6 simple card ideas to share featuring products from the Peaceful Poppies suite. This is a NEW product suite coming out in the 2020 Stampin’ Up Mini catalog. It has a variety of beautiful products and, of course, poppies! The card ideas feature some of the different patterned papers from the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack and some fun little embellishments called Elements.

Peaceful Poppies Elements

This new suite has several fun products to play with but my favorite so far are these little Peaceful Poppies Elements. The pack includes 8 sheets of die cut accents that you can use to decorate your cards. Couple them with the designer paper and you can create a variety of quick and simple cards.

These two cards feature the black and floral peaceful poppies elements along with some scrap pieces of patterned paper. The first card features a 1-1/2 x 4 inch piece of patterned paper decorated with a floral and black element from the pack. Add a bit of linen thread or twine and boom, you have a simple little card idea! The second card features three 1-1/2 x 4 inch pieces of patterned paper adhered to a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of black card stock. The focal point of the card is a floral and black circle element.

Painted Poppies

There are two stamp sets in the Peaceful Poppies suite. The Painted Poppies stamp set has a variety of floral, watercolor and splatter images that coordinate nicely with the elements. The Peaceful Moments stamp set has all of the wonderful sentiments and greetings used on these cards.

One of the hot trends right now is to stamp or emboss your sentiments or greetings on card stock and then cut them out by hand. You might have noticed that I used this technique on many of the cards featured here today. The greetings were heat embossed, white, on black card stock. If you are not familiar with heat embossing, it requires a versa mark pad, embossing powder and a heat tool. You can learn more about heat embossing HERE

Vellum Elements

The last set of Peaceful Poppies elements that I was to share with you are on vellum. There are two full sheets of vellum poppy elements that you can use to decorate your cards.

The vellum elements are embossed in white so they look absolutely stunning against the black card stock. Now to adhere them to the card stock you want to use a very thin layer of glue. I recommend sponging the glue onto the vellum elements as it tends to dry faster with minimal amounts of glue showing through the vellum.

The new catalog and saleabration start January 3, 2020. I am super excited about the new catalog and look forward to sharing more fun ideas with you! Have a creative day ~ Lynn

  1. i had never ordered from stamping up before. Joined your 5 month card group and loved first set of cards. Signed up to receive a catalogue from you. Will the poppy supplies come as a set or will I have to figure out pieces to put together? If pieces, can you send me a list of needed supplies to order? I love these cards!
    Thank you in advance.
