Last week I shared a few Christmas gift card holders you can make with patterned paper. This week I am continuing that theme using the Toile Christmas stamp set along with the Tiding All Around set. The gift card holder section of these cards is on the inside and still features the use of patterned paper. And I have two different ideas for you.
Now the cool thing about this card is you can create it with or without the gift card holder section. It’s simply a standard card, with a piece of patterned paper added to the inside to create a little pocket for a gift card.
Triangular Gift Card Holder Section
Now this particular gift card holder was actually created with the triangular piece that was leftover from creating one of cards I shared last week. You can get all of the details on last week’s cards HERE. You might recall that last week I created the entire card with a 5-1/2 x 12 inch piece of patterned paper. This triangular piece was cut from that very last section.
The gift card section on this card is simply that leftover triangular piece adhered to the inside of a very vanilla card base. So it’s basically a standard Christmas card with a little patterned paper pocket on the inside for the gift card.
To decorate the front of the card, I used a variety of images and die cuts from the Toile Christmas and Tidings All Around stamp sets. Stamp and cut out all of the images and then layer them together to create the focal point on the front of the card.
Rectangular Gift Card Holder Section
This next card idea features a rectangular gift card section that runs across the entire bottom of the inside of the card. The concept for creating it is the same as the one above, the only difference is that I cut a 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 inch piece for the inside instead of a triangular piece. The key to creating the gift card holder section is to only add adhesive to the bottom and sides of the patterned paper piece. Leave the top of the paper free from adhesive so that you can slide a gift card in there.
To create the front of the card, start with a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of Garden Green cardstock. Stamp some of the leaf images in the background using garden green ink. Cut a 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 inch piece of patterned paper and adhere it across the bottom of the garden green cardstock. Add a bit of ribbon across the top part of the patterned paper and adhere the entire piece of green cardstock to a black card base. Then simply embellish the card with a variety of stamped images and die cuts.
