Today I want to share some easy Christmas gift card holders you can make out of patterned paper. If you have a lot of patterned papers on hand, then this video is for you!
Now these Christmas Gift Card Holders feature the Toile Christmas stamp set from Stampin Up and some of the patterned papers from the Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. But keep in mind you can create all sorts of fun Christmas Gift Card Holders with ANY patterned papers you have on hand. Just get creative with it.
Creating the Gift Card Holder
The gift card holders are created from a 12 x 12 inch sheet of patterned paper. You can actually make two gift card holders from one 12 x 12 inch piece of patterned paper.
The concept for creating the gift card holder section is pretty simple. I recommend cutting your patterned paper a quarter of an inch smaller than the card size that you plan to make. So the cards I typically make measure 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 inches when closed. So I cut my patterned paper at 5-1/4 x 12 inches. The 12 inch section is scored at 4 and 8 inches so that way when I fold on all of the score lines, the patterned paper measures 5-1/4 x 4 inches. And that is the perfect size for adhering it to a 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 inch card base! Now this will all make sense once you watch the video.
Decorating the Gift Card Holder
Although I decided to use products from the Toile Tidings suite, you can really decorate your gift card holders any way you like!
As with many card ideas that I share, you can decorate these cards in either the portrait or the landscape style. No matter which style you choose, the measurements for creating the gift card holder section are exactly same. I love the versatility of being able to change up the look of the card without having to change the measurements.
