Hello my Crafty Friends! Today we are going to take a break from Christmas cards to create some adorable Elf Christmas tags and a gift box. Well we do need little tags to decorate the top of our Christmas presents, right?
Now if you enjoy little elf designs, then you might also enjoy creating some Elf and Santa Suit cards (after you create the tags of course). You can learn more about the Elf and Santa Suit cards HERE
Christmas Tags
So let’s start by talking about how to create the elf Christmas tags. Now I prefer to use a tag topper punch to create my tags. A punch enables me to easily create a fancy little design on the top of my tag. The tag toppers are designed for tags that are 2 inches wide or less. So I typically use a 2 inch size for the width of my tag since it will easily fit in the tag topper
You can create tags as long or as short as you like. For the tags I am sharing today, I used 5-1/2 and 6 inch lengths. The 5-1/2 inch length works well for creating tags with cardstock. A 6 inch length works well for the patterned paper tags since the paper comes in a 6 x 6 inch paper pack. That way you don’t have very much waste when creating your tags. But again, you can cut them to any length that you prefer.
Christmas Gift Box
Now this adorable little gift box is easy to make but I highly recommend that you watch the video so that you can see the assembly in action. The box was created with a 5-1/2 x 8-1/4 inch piece of cardstock. So you can actually make two of them from one 8-1/2 x 11 inch piece of cardstock!
The elf gift box holds 6 -10 tags depending upon how many layers you have on the tags. It makes a super cute little gift giving idea this holiday season.
#Elfie
Now the projects in this week’s video feature the #Elfie stamp set from Stampin’ Up! as well as the Wrapped In Plaid Designer Series paper.
Feel free to download the printable tutorial for a complete supply list and instructions for creating the tags and the box.
And be sure to watch the video to learn more about these elf Christmas tags and to see the assembly of the box in action! Have a creative day! ~ Lynn
