Hello my crafty friends! Today I have 4 snowman cards ideas to share with you along with some fun embellishment ideas. Now there are a variety of different ways you can create and decorate your snowman cards. However, you will find all sorts of fun things in the Let It Snow Embellishment kit from Stampin’ Up!
Quick Snowman Cards
The first two cards feature some of the fun products from the Stampin Up Let It Snow suite. Products such as the Snowman Season stamp set, Snowman Builder punch, the Designer Paper and, of course, the Let It Snow embellishment kit.
The first card features some of the fun little felt pieces from the Let It Snow embellishment kit. Start with a piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 5-1/4 x 3 inch piece of one of the Let It Snow patterned papers and adhere it to the top part of the card base. Cut a 5-1/4 x 2 inch piece of white cardstock. Use your scissors to cut a wavy edge along the 5-1/4 inch side. Stamp a greeting on it and adhere it to the bottom of the card with a few dimensionals.
Stamp three snowmen images on a scrap piece of white cardstock with black ink. Punch out the images with the snowman builder punch and tuck them under the white cardstock as shown. Then embellish the snowmen with some of the felt pieces and enamel shapes from the Let It Snow Embellishment kit.
The second card is similar to the first one. The only difference is that we will use a piece of the Let It Snow DSP that already has a few snowmen images on it. Cut down the patterned paper so that it is 5-1/2 inches long and fits across the entire length of the card. Cut a 5-1/2 x 1-1/2 inch piece of white paper and create the “snow” by cutting a wavy line across the paper with your scissors. Then simply embellish it with some of the fun things from the kit!
Creating a Snowman with Circle Shapes
Now even if you don’t have a snowman stamp set or punch, you can still create snowman cards. All you need is a few circle shapes and some fun embellishments! These snowman cards feature circles created with the Stitched Shapes dies but you can use punches or any other circle shapes you have on hand.
The concept for creating the first card involves cutting out 3 different sized circle shapes and layering them together to create the snowman. The three circle shapes measure approximately 1-3/8, 1-7/8 and 2-3/8 inches in diameter. Stamp the circles with some snowflake images and layer them onto a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of patterned paper. Create the face with a variety of enamel shapes from the embellishment kit. Coal for the eyes and mouth as well as a little carrot nose. You can use the arm embellishments in the kit or create them with the snowman builder punch.
The snowman on the second card features a half circle instead of a full circle. Simply take the 1-7/8 inch circle and cut it in half. Embellish the face with some of the fun shapes from the kit. Add a bit of ribbon (or patterned paper) along the bottom of the half circle to cover up the “cut” line. Then embellish with a felt scarf.
Let It Snow Embellishment Kit
Now besides creating all sorts of adorable cards, you can also decorate the box from the embellishment kit. Yes! The box has an adorable pattern on it that, of course, coordinates with all of the products in the Let It Snow suite.
My favorite thing about the box is that it is the perfect size for packages up your cards! You can fit 4-6 handmade cards in this box. Such a fun and simple gift giving idea!
All of these projects feature some of the fun little items contained in the Let It Snow Embellishment kit. And this embellishment kit is part of the Snowman Season Christmas Card Making club!
