Today I have 3 super fun pop up Christmas tree card designs to share with you. You can use these little pop up Christmas trees in a variety of different ways in your holiday card making.

So first let’s talk about how to create the little pop up Christmas tree. For these cards I’m using the pine tree punch which is part of the Wrapped in Plaid suite from Stampin Up! However, any tree shape will work. Now the concept for creating the pop up trees is very similar to the pop up pumpkin card ideas I shared with you a few weeks ago. However, there is a little trick to using the pine tree punch for creating these pop up Christmas Trees because the pine tree punch is asymmetrical. So I highly recommend that you watch the video as it will be so much easier to see how to create it.
Basic Pop Up Christmas Tree Card
Once you learn how to create the pop up Christmas Tree, you can use it in a variety of ways to decorate your cards. This first card features the pop up Christmas tree on the front of the card.
As you can see, the Christmas Tree makes an awesome little embellishment on the front of the card. Now one of the cool things about this pop up Christmas tree is that it will lay flat for mailing. The entire tree accordion folds together which makes it easy to flatten it out or pop it up.
Creating a Window for the Tree
The second card design, I want to share features a little pop up Christmas tree that is actually on the inside of the card yet it is visible on the front of the card when the card is closed.
So you are basically going to create a little window on the card front for the Christmas tree to peek through. To create the window, you can use any die cut shape you have on hand. I chose to use a circle shape but an oval or square would work well too.
Inside Pop Up Christmas Tree Card
Now this last card idea I have to share with you features the little pop up section on the inside of the card. It’s a fun little surprise that is sure to wow your family and friends.
The pop up section of this card is created by adhering the Christmas tree to the “fold” in the middle of the inside of the card. Simply line up the score line on the tree with the score line on the inside of the card. The Christmas tree will accordion fold together and lay flat on the inside of the card when close. It will pop up when the card is opened.

This is lovely. You can also make the tree a mini-ornament or gift bag embellishment by gluing them all together with some thread (or yarn or whatever you have on hand inside). I’ve tried this and its super cute, too. TFS
