Today I have some super fun pop up pumpkin cards to share with you! The cards feature the Harvest Hellos bundle from Stampin Up! This particular bundle of products has includes an apple builder punch. Now you are probably wondering what that has to do with pumpkins, right? Although we will focus on the pumpkins today, you can make either apples or pumpkins with this bundle of products! Super smart design feature!

Creating the Pop Up Pumpkin
So the first thing we need to do is create the little pop up pumpkin for our card. It’s a super simple little technique that I’m pretty sure you’re gonna love!
Now you can use any color card stock to create the pumpkins. I have two cards that I will share today; one features the traditional orange color and the other features a non-traditional white (or vanilla) color. Choose a color for your pumpkins that coordinates with the patterned paper you are using.
The concept for creating the pop up pumpkins is the same no matter what color cardstock you are using. Start by stamping three pumpkin images, using the Harvest Hellos stamp set, on a piece of cardstock. For these pumpkins, I am using very vanilla cardstock and soft suede ink. Score each of the pumpkins, from top to bottom, so that you can fold them in half. Add a bit of adhesive to one of the pumpkins on each side of the score line. Then simply adhere the pumpkins to each other so that they accordion fold on top of each other. You will be adhering half of one pumpkin to half of another.
Pumpkin Card Ideas
Once you have created the pop up pumpkins, then you can use them to decorate your cards! This first card features the pop up pumpkin as an embellishment on the front of the card.
To create this card, start with a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 3 x 5-1/2 inch piece of patterned paper. Next, cut a 3-1/4 x 5-1/2 inch piece of Soft Suede cardstock. Adhere the two pieces together and then adhere them across the center of the vanilla card base. Tie a bit of twine around the center of the card front. Cut out a few layering ovals and embellish the ovals with your pop up pumpkin. Adhere the entire piece to your card front with a few dimensionals.
Now just in case you are wondering…the pop up pumpkin will lay flat for mailing. Since the pumpkin is put together in an accordion fashion, it easily lays flat by pushing down on the middle pumpkin. Super cool, hey?
Inside Pop Up Section
Now you can also use the pumpkin to create a pop up section on the inside of your card. For this particular card, I created the pumpkin in the exact same way I just described above. However, this time I adhered the pumpkin to the inside of the card.
Simply line up the score lines on the pumpkin with the score line on the inside of the card. Again, the pumpkin with accordion fold together when the card is closed. So that means that it will lay flat on the inside of the card.
The front of the card features a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock. The patterned paper pieces are 1 x 5 and 2-3/4 x 5 inches. The inside of the card is simply decorated with the pumpkin and two pieces of patterned paper measuring 1 x 5-1/2 inches.
