Hello my Friends! Today I have some matchbook fun fold projects to share with you featuring the Dinoroar Suite of products from Stampin’ Up! Now I started out creating some little matchbook treat holders and then realized they would make super cute cards too!
Dinoroar Matchbook Treat Holders
So the first set of projects I want to share with you today are the Matchbook Treat Holders. Once you create these, it will be so easy to turn them into fun interactive cards.
Aren’t they just adorable? To create these fun little treat holders you will start with a piece of cardstock cut at 3-1/4 x 8-1/2 inches. Score the 8-1/2 inch side at 3-1/2, 3-3/4 and 7-3/4 inches. Fold on all of the score lines to create the matchbook. Now the 3/4 inch section (the last section you scored) will become the bottom of the matchbook.
You can tuck the end of a prepackaged treat under that 3/4 inch flap and then staple it. Be sure to keep the staples in the middle of the 3/4 inch section so that you can tuck the cover of the matchbook under that flap to keep it closed.
Dinoroar Matchbook Fun Fold Cards
Ok, now that you know how to make the little matchbooks, you can easily turn them into cards. You simply create the same style matchbook fun fold as I shared above, only this time we will be adhering it to the front of a piece of decorated cardstock.
So start with a piece of cardstock cut at 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 inches; this will serve as the base of your card. Cut a piece of patterned paper at 5-1/4 x 4 inches and adhere it to the front of the cardstock. Then simply create the matchbook with the same measurements I shared above. When the matchbook is closed it measures 3-1/4 x 4 inches so it will fit perfectly on the card front.
Inside of the Fun Fold Card
The matchbook is decorated very similar to the treat holder with just a few modifications. Start by cutting a 3 x 3-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock and adhere it to the inside of the matchbook. Stamp a little sentiment on it and decorate as desired. This serves as the inside of the card.
Now, to cover up the staples on the bottom, simply adhere a piece of ribbon across the bottom and wrap the ends around to the back of the matchbook. Once you have completed these steps, use a strong adhesive, like Tear and Tape, to adhere the matchbook to your card front.
