Today I thought I would share some fun Broadway Birthday card ideas featuring the stamp off technique! Now just in case you are wondering… Broadway Birthday is the name of the stamp set used to create the cards. It’s a set that has been around for awhile and it works well with this simple stamping technique.
The Technique
The concept for using the stamp off technique is very simple. Ink up any stamp image and stamp it on some cardstock. Then, without re-inking the stamp, you will stamp it again in a different area of cardstock. That’s it! Easy, right?
By using the stamp off technique, you will notice that the second stamped image is a lighter shade of color than the first image you stamped. It’s a great way to create many different variations of color on your cards. It’s also a fun way to create the Ombre effect. Not familiar with Ombre? You can learn more about this technique HERE.
Now both of these cards feature the stamp off technique to create a cluster of balloons as the focal point in the center of the card. It’s just that one card has a lot more balloons that the other. The key thing to take note of is the cards were created with only 3 different ink colors. However, by using the stamp off technique, it makes it seem like 6 different ink colors were used. That’s because when you stamp off, you create a new variation, a different shade, of that particular color.
