Bird Ballad Laser Cut Cards and Tin

Bird Ballad is a gorgeous suite of products that is featured in the new Stampin Up 2019-2020 Annual catalog. And one of the first things that caught my eye was the laser cut cards and tin. So today I want to share a few different card designs with you and give you some tips on how to work with the laser cut cards.

In this week’s video, I will share four simple yet beautiful card ideas. Now the front of the detailed laser cut cards are absolutely beautiful. However you might find that they are a bit challenging to decorate. I mean where do you put the adhesive? Well you will learn some tips that address this challenge during the video. Besides the card ideas, I will also share a fun way to decorate the tin as well.

Coloring with Stampin’ Blends

Each of the four card designs I have to share today feature a variety of products from the bird ballad suite. So let’s start out talking about these two cards which feature the use of Stampin’ Blends. For more fun Stampin’ Blend card ideas, check out my latest post HERE.

Stampin’ Blends are alcohol based markers. Unlike regular markers, Stampin’ Blends work perfect for blending and shading. You can achieve some fun watercolor looks and you don’t even have to use water! For these cards, you can use the Stampin’ Blends to color the images on the card but you can also use them to create a colorful background. The first card showcases the use of the light shade of a Pool Party Stampin’ Blend in the background of the bird ballad images. It has a great effect and accents the stamped images nicely. Watch the video to see how easy it is to use Stampin’ Blends and create a colorful background.

Create Accents from Designer Paper

Now you can also use the variety of different bird images right from the Bird Ballad Designer Paper. There are several patterns of paper that have some beautiful bird images that you can use to embellish your cards. Simply cut them out by hand and use them as the focal point on the card.

The other tips for these two cards involves creating a colorful insert for the inside of the card. These cards feature pool party and petal pink cardstock however, you can use any color to create an insert. The insert helps stabilize the detailed laser cut card front so that you can easily decorate it.

Bird Ballad Card Tin

Now besides the card ideas, you can also decorate the tin as well. There are a vareity of different ways that you can decorate the tin. For this tin, I decided to decorate it using the same design as one of the cards.

The tin is such a great gift giving idea. You can use the tin to package up any type of gift. One of my favorite gift giving ideas involves packaging up some handmade cards to give away as a gift. Since the tin comes with 12 cards and envelopes you can easily decorate them, package them up in this tin and give them away as a gift! I bet you know lots of people that would love to receive a beautiful tin of handmade cards!
