Today I want to share 3 easy sunflower cards you can create with the Daisy Lane stamp set. Now the first time I saw the Daisy Lane stamp set, I didn’t see daisies, I saw sunflowers. I know, crazy, right? But wait until you see how perfect the daisy images are for creating sunflowers.
Now the Daisy Lane stamp set is a NEW set that just came out in the 2019-2020 Stampin’ Up! Annual catalog. It has some gorgeous images in it to create all sorts of beautiful cards. And when you combine this set with the NEW Birch background stamp, you can easily see the possibilities!
Creating the Sunflower
The Daisy Lane stamp set comes with two different sized daisies that will work great for creating sunflowers. Since I have the large daisy punch on hand, I decided to create the sunflowers with the largest daisy in the set. However, as soon as I get my hands on that medium sized daisy punch, I will make a few more sunflower cards!
Now the daisies are super simple to make. Start by stamping two daisy images on a scrap piece of white cardstock using Crushed Curry ink. Punch out the daisy images and layer them together to create the base of your flower. Now instead of using them as is, we will create a large brown center for the flower. To do this you need a circle punch or die cut.
Punch out a 1-3/8 inch scalloped circle to use as the center of the sunflower. Now you can certainly use the scalloped circle, as is, to create the center of the sunflower. However, you can also emboss the circle with the Eyelet Lace embossing folder to give it a bit more texture.
Sunflower Cards
Flowers are one of my favorite embellishments so I tend to make lots of flowery cards. The best part about paper flowers is that they last forever!
The fun thing about the Daisy Lane stamp set is that there are a variety of different possibilities for creating flowery cards. You can also combine the Daisy Lane stamp set with the Daisy Delight set for even more cards ideas! Check out some of the Daisy Delight cards ideas HERE
