Today I have a fun and simple technique to share that involves stamping with your acrylic blocks! Yes, we are going to add ink to the acrylic blocks, instead of our stamps, to create 3 colorful masculine birthday cards. It’s a super fun technique with lots of possibilities!
The Acrylic Block Stamping Technique
In this card making tutorial, you will learn how to create some simple masculine birthday cards using an acrylic block stamping technique! All you need is some of your favorite ink colors, some acrylic blocks (you know, the ones you use to mount your stamps on) and a little spritzer filled with water.
Now you can certainly just use one color and one stamp image to create a whole bunch of awesome cards! But why stop with just one color? You can ink up the acrylic block with a variety of colors to create some really cool backgrounds on your cards.
Tips for Inking Up The Acrylic Block
Now you can achieve a variety of different looks depending on how you ink up the acrylic block. The more ink you add to the block, the darker the color will be when you spritz and stamp it. Of course, the more water you spritz on the ink the more dilute the color with be as well.
For the card pictured above, ink was applied to the acrylic block using a sponge dauber and then spritzed with a bit of water. This gives the color a more dilute or water color effect when stamping with the acrylic block.
Now this next set of cards have a much different look from the first set I shared. To create these cards, the acrylic block is applied directly to the ink pad (as featured in the video) and then spritzed with a bit of water. This gives a more defined and darker look to the color stamped with the acrylic block.
