By The Bay ~ Stampin Up

Today I have a few quick and simple projects to share with you that feature the By the Bay stamp set from Stampin’ Up! This stamp set is one of the Sale-A-Bration items you can choose for FREE with a qualifying order.  It’s a great set for creating masculine themed cards!

Both of the cards featured here today have more of a rustic style or natural style to them. You can easily create this style of card simply by choosing neutral colors and wood accents. For these cards, I chose different shades of brown for the color scheme as well as some of the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper for the background.

Simple Stamping

This first card features some simple stamping. One color. One stamp. Well, two stamps if you count the greeting. Although the images in the set are designed for coloring, you really don’t have to use them that way. Look how beautiful this image is simply stamped in brown with absolutely no additional coloring!

To create this card, start with a piece of Early Espresso cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 3 x 5-1/2 inch piece of one of the Wood Texture Designer Series Paper (DSP) patterned and adhere it down the middle of the card front. Cut a 2-1/4 x 3-1/2 inch piece of Crumb Cake cardstock. Stamp the image and a greeting on the cardstock using Early Espresso ink. Then simply adhere it across the center of the card as shown. That’s it!  Quick and simple, yet stunning!

You can also use the rectangular stitched framelit dies to cut out the Crumb Cake rectangle. The die set adds a nice stitching effect around the edge of rectangle.

Panel Card

This second card features the same simple stamping technique but with a little different presentation.

To make this card, start with a piece of Early Espresso cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 3-3/4 x 5-1/2 inch piece of one of patterned from the Wood Texture DSP pack. Adhere the DSP across the center of the card front as shown.

To create the window pane (or the panel look) on the card, start by cutting a 2-1/2 x 1 inch piece of Crumb Cake cardstock. Stamp the image on the cardstock using Early Espresso ink. Place the cardstock in your paper trimmer and cut three 1 inch strips (across the 3 inch side). Next, cut a 2-3/4 x 3-1/2 inch piece of Early Espresso cardstock.  Adhere the 3 panels to the Early Espresso cardstock as shown. Be sure to adhere them in the correct order and leave about 1/8 inch space in between each panel as you adhere them!

I hope you enjoyed these rustic style cards! Feel free to leave a comment below. Questions, thoughts and suggestions are always welcome!

Have a creative week! ~Lynn
