Floral Romance Vellum ~ 3 Simple Card Ideas

Hello Friends! Today I have 3 simple card ideas featuring the beautiful Floral Romance Vellum from Stampin’ Up! The vellum is just one of the many beautiful products in this suite. Since the vellum caught my eye right away, I decided to focus on sharing some fun ways to use it on your cards.

Floral Romance Vellum – Designer Paper

So the first card I want to share with you today features a piece of the Floral Romance Vellum across the center of the card. This particular vellum has a beautiful pattern on it so you can use it just like you would any other patterned paper. I recommend choosing a white colored cardstock for the base of your card as it will accent the colors and design in the vellum.

This is a very quick and simple card to create too! The Floral Romance vellum is cut at 2 x 5-1/2 inches and adhered across the center of the white card front. Since the vellum has a beautiful pattern on it, it hides the “adhesive” marks very well. Yes, sometimes vellum shows all of the places where you applied tape or adhesive but this particular vellum covers it nicely. Once you have adhered the vellum, add a layered sentiment as the focal point and then embellish it as desired.

Floral Romance Vellum – Simple Stamping

These next two card ideas feature some fun ways to use the Floral Romance vellum as an embellishment for your card. Now these particular ideas require that you cut out the little designs from the vellum. But don’t worry, it’s very easy to do and the results are definitely worth it.

This card is an example of simple stamping. The background on this card features a variety of stamp images from the Wonderful Romance stamp set by Stampin’ Up! The images are stamped in Soft Sea Foam ink which is the same color as the cardstock. By using the same colors, it offers a soft and subtle back drop for the card. Now the sentiment features a darker green color, Mossy Meadow, to draw out the dark green color in the vellum. For the finishing touch, embellish the center of the card with a variety of different leaf and flower images cut from the vellum. Super simple and beautiful!

Floral Romance Vellum – Stepped Up

Much like the last card, this final card idea features the Floral Romance Vellum as an embellishment. However, this card is more of a stepped up version compared to the simple stamping card idea I just shared.

Although it’s a simple design, I stepped it up a bit by adding a 3-3/4 x 5 inch piece of embossed petal pink cardstock for the background of the card and quite a few more embellishments. It’s still a very simple card to create despite all of the layers.
