Weddings are one of those special occasions that really get me to think outside of the box to create some memorable and one of kind cards. So today I have some unique wedding card ideas to share that are super fun and pretty easy to create. Of course you can also use them to celebrate anniversaries or any other love themed occasion.
Monochromatic Wedding Card Idea
This first wedding card idea has a monochromatic look and style to it. I find black and white designs to be very elegant and eye catching. The card is very formal which is perfect for a wedding celebration.
One of the great things about this design is the simplicity. It involves using a piece of white cardstock to create the card base and the background for this card. Easy peasy! Once you have your card base created, cut a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of white cardstock and emboss it with your favorite embossing folder. For this card, I chose the new Lace Textured Embossing Folder.
Creating the Bride and Groom Hearts
Next, let’s talk about the creation of the bride and groom heart shapes for the card. You can really use any heart shaped punch or die cuts that you have on hand. These cards feature the medium sized heart framelit from the Be Mine Stitched Framelit set.
Start by cutting out three hearts: One from a piece of black cardstock and two from a piece of white cardstock. Cut each of the white hearts again using the heart shaped framelit as shown above. By using the framelit to cut into the white heart shape, you can create the white piece for the groom’s tuxedo as well as the fancy heart for the bride.
Unique Wedding Card Ideas
This last wedding card idea is really a spin off of the first one. Instead of creating a black and white card, you can use red cardstock (or any other color) as a background for the bride and groom hearts. This wedding card idea is a great way to showcase the colors in the wedding (if you know what they are).
For this card, start with a piece of white cardstock for the base of the card. Cut a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of Black cardstock and a 5 x 3-3/4 inch piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock. Using the Be Mine Stitched framelits, you can add a stitched heart outline to the center of the Cherry Cobbler cardstock. The stitched heart outline adds a nice touch to the card, would you agree? Once you have created the background for the card, simply create the bride and groom hearts to embellish it. Of course don’t forget some ribbon and a sentiment!
