Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper

So today I want to focus on a new designer paper called Botanical Butterfly. This designer paper is a Sale-A-Bration item which means it’s FREE with a $50 purchase.

Butterfly Cards

There are a variety of beautiful butterfly patterns in this paper pack but I was immediately drawn to the black and white patterns. The butterfly pattern is perfect for coloring and there are many possibilities with this paper.

Butterfly Cards

If you like the look of vintage, you can use the black and white paper as is! This butterfly card shows how beautiful the paper patterns are in the Botanical Butterfly DSP pack. To create this card, simply start with a piece of Basic Black cardstock for the base of your card. Cut two pieces of the polka dot patterned paper at 1/2 x 5-1/4 inches and adhere them to each side of the black card front. Cut a 2-3/4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of the DSP and a 3 x 5-1/4 inch piece of black cardstock. Adhere the two pieces together and wrap a piece of the NEW black/silver 1/4″ striped metallic ribbon around it as shown. Adhere the piece to the center of the card front and embellish with a little sentiment.

Butterfly Cards

You can also color the images on the patterned paper. Color them all or simply color a few.  By coloring just one or two images, you create a beautiful focal point on the card. Whatever you decide, the results will be amazing!

For these cards, I simply cut up an entire piece of the 12 x 12 inch black and white Botancial Butterfly DSP pattern. The one with all of the large beautiful butterflies. Cut the sheet of DSP into 3 strips that measure 3-3/4 x 12 inches. Then cut each 12 inch strip at 5 and 10 inches. You will end up with 6 pieces of DSP that measure 3-3/4 x 5 inches and 3 pieces of DSP that measure 2 x 5 inches. Use these pieces to create your cards.

Simply color in the one or two of the butterflies using orange and yellow markers. For these projects, I used the Dark shade of Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. These are alcohol based markers and they work fabulous for coloring!  Once you have your paper colored, simply adhere them to a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock and then to the black card front.
