Snow is glistening! It’s a beautiful sight. I’m happy tonight. Walking in a winter wonderland! Well, we don’t really have a winter wonderland here in Wisconsin yet but I can at least create one in my craft room using this incredible assortment of products. The snowflake showcase is an assortment accessories, dies, and a two beautiful stamp sets including the Snow Is Glistening set. And today, I have a few beautiful cards to share that showcase the Snow Is Glistening stamp set.
Snow is Glistening – Simple Stamping
This first card showcases some simple stamping. Although I love to add layers, bling and all sorts of shiny things to my cards, it’s always fun to design some quick and simple cards that I can put together in a snap. If you send a lot of Christmas cards, you will love the beauty and simplicity of this card.
To create this card, start with a piece of whisper white cardstock for the base of your card. The base is created by cutting a 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inch piece of white cardstock. Score the 8-1/2 inch side at 4-1/4 inches to create the fold for your card. Stamp the sentiment in the lower right hand corner using Night of Navy ink.
The snowflakes were stamped with Night of Navy and Balmy Blue ink. Randomly stamp them diagonally across the card. That’s it! Oh, of course you can bling it up a bit by adding a few rhinestone jewels in between the snowflakes.
Snow Is Glistening – Stepped Up Cards
The next set of cards involve the use of the beautiful snowfall thinlit dies. These cards also involve simple stamping but they are “stepped up” because of the additional of the patterned paper and snowflake thinlit die.
Both of these cards have the same layout, I just changed out the sentiment and colors. The card on left showcases Balmy Blue and the card on the right showcases Mossy Meadow. Cut a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of white cardstock and stamp the images on the upper part of the cardstock, as shown. The lower part of the card is a separate piece that has the same contours as the string of snowflakes. You will cut this piece by hand using a template.
Instructions for Creating the Template
Create a template for the lower part of the card that matches the contours of the “string of snowflakes.” Start by cutting a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of white cardstock. Take the string of snowflakes die and lightly tap it on your ink pad. Be sure to ink up the entire cutting part of the die.
Lay the die across the 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of white cardstock and press the ink onto the cardstock. This will leave an outline of the die on the cardstock. Cut along the wavy line to create your template. You will be cutting directly across some of the snowflakes.
Lay the template on a 4 x 4 inch piece of patterned paper and cut along the wavy line using your scissors. If you are creating the snowflake card, lay the template on a 4 x 4 inch piece of white paper and cut along the wavy line using your scissors.
