Thanksgiving Treat Holders

Today I have some fun and simple Thanksgiving Treat Holders to share with you! These adorable little treat holders also coordinate with the Thanksgiving cards I shared with you a few days ago. The treat holders were created with the envelope punch board and are super simple to make!

Pilgrim Hat Card and Treat Holder

One of the first Thanksgiving Treat Holders I created is this super cute punch art pilgrim hat! I used the same supplies and colors from the Pilgrim Hat card to design the treat holder.

Creating the Treat Holder

Although these instructions reflect the DSP used for the Pilgrim Hat, keep in mind that you can use any patterned paper to create the treat holder.

  • Start with a 6 x 6 inch piece of one of the Soft Suede patterns of paper from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper (DSP) Pack.
  • Place the DSP in the envelope punch board, line it up with the 2 inch mark and score it,
  • Turn the DSP 90 degrees and place it at the 3 inch mark and score it.
  • You will again turn the DSP 90 degrees, place it at the 2 inch mark and score it.
  • Finally, turn the DSP 90 degrees, place it at the 3 inch mark and score it.
  • Take each of the smaller scored sides and fold them into the middle of the treat holder.
  • Fold the bottom section up over the top of the two sides and secure it with a bit of tear and tape or a strong adhesive.
  • Round the top point of the treat holder using the tool on the envelope punch board.
  • Then just decorate as desired!

Decorating Your Thanksgiving Treat Holders

You can really decorate your treat holders any way you want!  However, for this particular project, I will share the instructions for creating the little Pilgrim Hat featured on the treat holder.

  • Start with a 1 x 1 inch square and a 1/4 x 1-1/2 inch piece of Soft Suede cardstock. Adhere the 1/4 inch piece to the bottom of the square to create the brim of the hat.
  • Next, cut a 1/4 x 1 inch piece of black cardstock and adhere it just above the brim of the hat.
  • Cut a 1/2 x 1/2 inch piece of Crushed Curry cardstock to create the buckle. Cut a 1/8 x 1/8 inch piece of black cardstock. Adhere these two pieces together and secure to the hat as shown.

Decorate the treat holder with some of your favorite leaf images. I used the images from the Falling For Leaves set. You can choose any shape (oval, circles, squares) to adhere to the front of your treat holder. For the pilgrim hat treat holder, I used some layering ovals to adhere all of my decorations.

Punch Art Pumpkin Treat Holder

One of my favorite things about the treat holders is that you can use ANY patterned papers to create fun little treat holders for ANY occasion! So although I am sharing some fun Thanksgiving Treat Holders, you can use any patterned papers to create all sorts of fun treat holders.

Thanksgiving Treat Holders and Card - Pumpkin

For this Thanksgiving Treat Holder, I used some layered circles to create the pumpkin! I used the same supplies and colors from the Pumpkin card to design the treat holder. To create the treat holder, it’s the same process I described above except you will use a different color/patterned piece of 6 x 6 inch DSP. I used a piece of DSP from the Regals Designer Series Paper pack to coordinate with my pumpkin card.

The circles used to create this Punch Art Pumpkin are approximately 1-1/4 inches in diameter. I used the small Stitched Shapes Framelit for my circle but you can used any circle punch or framelit you have on hand.  Punch or cut out 3 circles from some pumpkin pie (orange) cardstock. Adhere two of the circles together by overlapping them. The third circle will be secured over the top of the other two with a few dimensionals.  That’s it!  Now decorate your treat holder as desired.

I hope you enjoyed these little Thanksgiving Treat Holders!
