Christmas Card Ideas (Stampin Up Winter Woods)

Have you been looking for some simple yet beautiful Christmas card ideas?  Well today I have some Christmas card ideas to share that just might be what you have been looking for! The cards feature the Stampin’ Up! Winter Woods bundle. This is such a beautiful bundle of products and one of my many favorites this holiday season. The cards capture the beauty of snow covered woods during the winter time.

Christmas Card Ideas – Winter Woods Scene

The Winter Woods Scene on this card was created with Whisper White cardstock and Gray Granite ink. It involves a bit of paper tearing and a simple little embossing technique. Start with a piece of Whisper White cardstock for the base of the card. To create the base, cut a 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inch piece of Whisper White cardstock and score the 8-1/2 inch side at 4-1/4 inches. Once you have the base of your card created,  cut a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of Whisper White cardstock. Stamp the tree image on the upper right hand side of the cardstock using Gray Granite ink.

Once the images are stamped, emboss the entire piece of cardstock using the Softly Falling embossing folder as this will give the appearance of falling snow in the woods. Cut a 1-3/4 x 5-1/4 inch and a 1-1/4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock. Tear the top of each of these pieces to create the snow covered ground. Stamp a sentiment on the smaller piece and layer them together on the bottom of the card as shown. For the finishing touch, embellish with a white Christmas tree cut from the framelit in the Winter Woods bundle.

Christmas Card Ideas – Frosted Floral

Winter Woods Christmas Card Ideas

The Winter Woods Scene on this card was created with Whisper White cardstock and a piece of the Frosted Floral Designer Series Paper (DSP). Create the base of your card in the way described above, using   Whisper White cardstock. Emboss the front of the card base with the Softly Falling embossing folder to create the look of falling snow. Cut out 3 white trees using the coordinating framelit from the set. Adhere two of the trees on the card front to create the wintery background.

Next, cut a 3 x 4-/4 inch piece of the green patterned paper from the Frosted Floral DSP and a 3-1/4 x 4-1/4 inch piece of Mint Macaron. The Mint Macaron piece will serve as a matte for the pretty patterned paper. Adhere the pieces together and tie a bit of white polka dot tulle around the bottom as shown. For the finishing touch, embellish with the word “Merry” cut from a piece of Mint Macaron cardstock.

So how fun are these Christmas card ideas? There are so many beautiful ways to use the Winter Woods bundle. Get creative with it! Enjoy!
