Inspired by Color

Coming up with color combinations can be quite challenging at times. I will let you in on a little secret…Stampin’ Up! has some fabulous color combinations on every page of their catalog!  One of the easiest ways to come up with a color combination is to look at the colors featured in their Designer Series Paper packs. You will find lots of inspiration there.

For today’s project, I am showcasing Mint Macaron, Crushed Curry, and Tranquil Tide.

This color combo  was inspired by the Share What You Love Designer Series Paper (DSP). It’s just absolutely gorgeous together but it would not have been a color combination I would have thought to use…not until I saw it in the DSP.

To make this card, start with a piece of Mint Macaron for the base of your card. Using the background die in the Stitched Labels Framelit set and your Big Shot Embossing Machine, add the background pattern on the upper left hand side of the card front. Cut a 5-1/4 x 1-1/2 inch piece of one of the Share What You Love DSP patterned papers, snip the end into a banner and adhere it across the card as shown. Stamp the long fancy image, from the Stitched All Around stamp set, just under the DSP using Mint Macaron ink. By using an ink color that is is the same color as the cardstock, it gives it a more subtle look.

Cut out the large Stitched Label using Very Vanilla cardstock and stamp a sentiment on it using Tranquil Tide ink. Tuck a bit of silver thread until the top of the stitched label and adhere the label to the card as shown. For the finishing touch, embellish the card with some pearls and a few flowers cut from the DSP.
