Summer time is fun time! And when it comes to card making, a few fun summer card ideas that involve ice cream come to mind! Ice cream is my favorite summertime treat! And this little card reminds my of my childhood days when my parents would take us to the ice cream parlor (Yes…I said Ice Cream parlor…I know I just dated myself). I hope you enjoy this fun little card idea!
To make this card, start with a piece of whisper white cardstock for the base of the card. Emboss the card front with your favorite embossing folder, in this case, I used the Basket Weave embossing folder. Cut a 2 x 4-1/4 inch piece of the striped paper from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper pack. Cut a 2-1/2 x 4-1/4 inch piece of Powder Pink cardstock. Adhere these two pieces together and adhere to the center of the card front. Oh, but before you adhere them, cut out a little oval shape from a piece of pink cardstock, stamp a sentiment on it and tuck it under the left side of the matted out DSP piece.
To create the ice cream, cut a 1-1/2 x 2-1/2 inch piece of white and powder pink cardstock. This will serve as the base of your ice cream.
Cut two (2) 1/2 x 3 inch piece of crumb cake cardstock. Round the bottom corners with the Detailed Trio Punch. These pieces will be the sticks for your ice cream bars.
For the Neapolitan ice cream bar, cut a 3/4 x 1-1/2 inch piece of Early Espresso cardstock and a 1 x 1-1/2 inch piece of Powder Pink cardstock. Adhere them to the bottom of the 1-1/2 x 2-1/2 inch white base you cut earlier. Use the detailed trio punch to round all of the corners. Take the 1-1/8 inch scalloped circle punch and “chomp” off the right upper corner of the white cardstock to make it look like someone took a bite out of the ice cream.
For the other ice cream bar, cut a 1-1/2 x 2 inch piece of early espresso cardstock. Using your scissors, create the scalloped look across the bottom of the 2 inch side. Adhere this piece to the 1-1/2 x 2-1/2 inch piece of powder pink cardstock you cut earlier. Use the detailed trio punch to round all of the corners then embellish with some pearls.
Arrange your ice cream bars on the card and embellish with little bows. Enjoy!
