Have you ever heard of a One Sheet Wonder (OSW)? It’s a term used to describe the “magic” of cutting up an entire sheet of patterned paper without having any leftover scraps. Yep, no scraps! There are many different One Sheet Wonder templates for card making. There are some templates you can use to create several different card designs and there are other templates that help you create multiples of the same card design.
It’s really amazing how many different ways you can cut up one sheet of patterned paper! But today I am going to show you one of my favorite ways! It’s a quick and simple One Sheet Wonder template that will enable you to create a lot of beautiful cards quickly and effortlessly!
Your first step, is to choose a 12 x 12 inch piece of your favorite patterned paper. For these projects I am showcasing the fabulous new Share What You Love Designer Series Paper but this will work with ANY papers. Be sure to coordinate your card base and accents with the colors in the paper you are using.
So here’s the “template”
- Cut three 4 inch strips from a 12 x 12 sheet of Designer Paper (patterned paper)
- Take each 4 inch strip and cut it down into 3 x 4 inch pieces. So you will end up with 4 pieces of designer paper, from each strip, that measure 3 x 4 inches.
- Once you have cut the entire 12 x 12 inch piece of designer paper, you should have a total of 12 pieces that measure 3 x 4 inches.
You can use this template to create either 6 or 12 cards, it’s your choice!
To create 6 cards, use two 3 x 4 inch pieces of patterned paper, layered together on your card front. The designer paper from Stampin’ Up! showcases beautiful coordinating designs on the front and the back of each sheet of paper.
To create 12 cards, just use one 3 x 4 inch piece of patterned paper on each card.
I put together a video tutorial demonstrating how to cut your paper and create these beautiful cards. You will be surprised at how easy it is to create beautiful cards fast!
