Today I want to give you a glimpse into one of the fun new products coming out in the new Stampin’ Up! catalog. It’s a fun new patterned vellum! You can create the look of stained glass quickly and effortlessly! The vellum is called Graceful Glass and it’s super fun to play with. If you love coloring, you are going to love this new product! And if you don’t care for coloring, this product just might change your mind!
The Graceful Glass vellum has a variety of different printed patterns that come in the pack but I was drawn to the butterfly one right away. So before I share a bit about the coloring on this project, I want to draw your attention to the glittery white areas on the vellum. No, you don’t have to mess around with glue and glitter to achieve that sparkle. Just add a bit of clear Wink of Stella to the “glass” panes and you can achieve that beautiful glitter look. A simple way to beautify the vellum!
To create the colorful stained glass look, simply use markers to color the images. For a soft and subtle look, color the BACK of the vellum. I have found that by coloring the back of the vellum, you avoid seeing any of the streaking or color lines from using the markers. For this particular project, I used a variety of different colored Stampin’ Blends. I prefer the alcohol based markers because of the blending power but the regular markers will work great too! And just to clarify…use the markers to color the BACK of the vellum but use the Wink of Stella (for the glittery effect) on the FRONT of the vellum.
I hope you enjoyed this little sneak peek into the new catalog! The new 2018-2019 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogs should be arriving on your door step before the end of this month!
