Love What You Do

Did you know…The NEW Stampin’ Up! catalogs will be delivered to homes all over the world this month! It’s such an exciting time of the year! And we all have an opportunity to grab some of these new products, before June, with the early release of the Share What You Love suite!  I have had the opportunity to play with these fabulous products for the past month so today I want to share some fun projects with you!

First, let me share a quick and simple card idea. This card showcases some fun flowery paper and one of the new colors called Petal Pink. The Share What You Love Designer Series Paper has a pretty pearlized sheen to it. It’s one of those paper packs that you just have to see in person to fully appreciate the shimmer and shine.

To create this card, start with a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 4 x 4 inch piece of the Share What You Love DSP and then cut it in half, diagonally. Adhere the pieces to the corners of the card front and then just embellish it with a doily and some layered circle shapes. I also cut out one of the flowers by hand to create an embellishment for the card. Oh, and don’t forget the pearls.

This next card is involves more stamping but it’s still super simple to create!  It showcases some of the pretty flowery images in the Love What You Do stamp set. And the watercolored background is the easiest watercoloring you will ever do…it’s one of the stamp images!

Start with a piece of the new Grapefruit Grove cardstock for your card base. Cut a 4 x 4 inch piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, this is the piece you will do your stamping on. Simply stamp the images using Grapefruit Grove and Old Olive ink. I used the stamp off technique to lighten up the watercolor image for the background. If you have never used this technique, simply ink up your image, stamp it off on a scrap piece of paper and then, without re-inking it, stamp the image on your project. Cut a 1-1/4 x 4 inch piece of the DSP pattern that has words printed on it and adhere it across the lower part of the card. For the finishing touch, embellish with a few layered circle shapes and some pearls.

And the last card I will share with you today is this pretty little z-fold card. This is one of the easiest fun fold cards you can create!  It’s basically a regular 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 inch card with the front of the card scored and folded in half. To create the base of the card, cut a 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inch piece of Mint Macaron cardstock and then score it at 2-1/8 and 4-1/4 inches. Fold the 2-1/8 inch section backwards (away from the inside). And voila…you have a z-fold card!

I decided to mix a little bit of the “old” products…the doily…in with the new products. I just love my doilies! Cut a 1-7/8 x 5-1/4 inch piece of DSP for the front “flap” of the card and  2 x 5-1/4 inch piece for the right hand side of the inside of the card. Then simply embellish the flap with a doily and some layered circle shapes.

So what do think? If you enjoyed these projects, there are several more fun ideas for you in the Share What You Love class this month.  The class features 8 different cards with the products from the Share What You Love suite:  4 regular sized cards and 4 note cards!
