Quick and Simple Card Layout

I enjoy creating all different styles of cards but lately I find myself creating more quick and simple cards. Don’t get me wrong, I love to putz around with all sorts of card designs and techniques and I will definitely continue to do so, but sometimes I just want something simple. Something that catches your eye but doesn’t take a lot of time to make. So today I want to share one of my favorite simple yet “eye catching” designs.

I have been using this card design for the past two months at least. The different layers and patterned papers give it just the right amount of pizzazz.  Plus, you can use this layout with ANY patterned papers you have on hand which is why I really like it!

So let me give you the details on this card. Start with a piece of Peekaboo Peach cardstock for the base of your card. Cut two pieces of patterned paper at 3 x 4 inches and layer them together on the card front as shown. Be sure to choose different, yet coordinating patterns of paper. For this card I used two patterns from the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper pack (which, by the way, is retiring).  Cut a 1/2 x 5-1/2 inch piece of Soft Sky cardstock (or a color that coordinates with the colors in the patterned paper you are using). Adhere the 1/2 strip across the bottom of the patterned paper as shown.  Stamp a sentiment on a scrap piece of white cardstock and use the layering circle framelits, or any other fun shapes, to create the focal point. Cut a slightly larger circle from some colored cardstock to serve as a matte. For the finishing touch, embellish the card. That’s it! Simple, right?
